  1. Hi Alan the ayo was not dumped , I was just trying the ercole out ,which is a light weight set up . The ayo sits on the vixen tripod with the bottom flange taken off perfectly, its like it was made for it.. it also very happy set on my uni tripod ?.
  2. Is this one any better https://www.firstlightoptics.com/alt-azimuth/berlebach-38-photo-adapter-for-heq5.html
  3. Hi Chris yes it does, its a m10 I think the same ones as skywatcher eq3/5 etc.. whats the diameter of the ercole I see it as a flange on it , it may well fit into the recess on the vixen .the central column on the tripod as the bolt attached to it
  4. this is the vixen tripod with my 150p on it it takes a second to for the vibrations to stop when you knocked it but is capable of holding it. i am thinking of using the tripod with the skywatcher gti mount .
  5. this is a vixen app-tl130 tripod it holds the scopes and is rock solid , and it folds down to nothing and lightweight its my grab n go set up .the uni mount is not grab n go .
  6. Well that's thrown the spanner in the works... mmmmm having a rethink now .. cheers flo
  7. hi scarp it just misses the saddle so can go forward right up to the limit where the focusing wheels would touch the mount . john.
  8. Hi scarp, yep that's looks the job will have to have one of them thanks for the pics John.
  9. hi helen you have a keen eye... it is the horizon tripod and its a vixen tripod adapter from flo.. take the old one and replace it with this . the tripod extension is from astro macanic from ab&s he's on there small ads. its 10" tall more manageable than the skywatcher ones .. but at £130 a tad expensive hope that helps helen .. john
  10. hi scarp i have had a play around with the saddle combo's, and i have solved the tv76 balance problem, swap the saddles.. i might make this a permanent solution .with the adm saddle i can move the tv76 forward and if i fit a dovetail it will go forward even more .the televue/vixen dovetail that i have wont allow me to do this as it has two end flanges that protrude out . the balance was spot on with the focuser racked out and a 2" diagonal and 2" ep as you can see from the photos .i need to find a pic of that dovetail you use . john . ps the porta saddle fits my ayo bonus!!
  11. Hi scarp , I have the same set up a tv76 and a porta 2 mount , I am interested in the dovetail fitting you use , do you have a photo of it? . As for the saddle I don't have a problem with balance as I only use 1.25 eyepieces at the moment and I use the televue dovetail which fits perfectly in the vixen saddle , I also have a ADM saddle which I use on my ayo ako mount never thought of putting it on the porta mount but might give it a go to see if in future I might have to move the scope forward to balance it .Regards John. Ps I will add photos of mine and the porta mount/saddle .

Haha many thanks John, I've not seen it yet, hopefully it comes across ok, difficult to put down in 170 words or less.. I'll have to pick up a copy ASAP. S@N approached me via Green witch telescopes where I bought the scope from, right out of the blue so I thought I'd give it a go..  Thanks Fozzie
