  1. Try Oliver Smie of Beloptik, he's done work on my PST and hs filters: oliver.smie@beloptik.de
  2. Seen it once with a 300mm GoTo fro southern Andalucia. Very faint but discernible (just).
  3. Rarely, if ever, during observing except maybe when meteor-shower viewing and definitely no alcohol (said to impair night-vision?). But after a cold night's session perhaps a wee dram or two before retiring to bed...
  4. What a fantastic trip! I once had the chance of a quick visit to the Observatory and was lucky to see M13 through the great Clark Refractor, absolutely amazing! Very few of the newer scopes were around then.
  5. Hy Sid, welcome to the forum. I'm also based E of Malaga!
  6. Great Unitron ad! I had one along time ago, the 3" 142 EQ. Bought second hand but eventually had to sell it, wish I had kept it...
  7. Took my Heritage 135 OTA plus a AZ-GTi in my backpack to Chile, no problem. Just a bit heavy...
  8. yes, I caught these early this morning. Impressive.
  9. Great sketch, thanks for sharing.
  10. Yes, seen it yesterday and today through my newly repaired PST. Beautiful!
  11. Just got my PST back yesterday, which was being repaired by Beloptik (disconnected etalon and new ITF filter) and, lo and behold, the huge prominence beautifully visible in the renewed scope's "first light." Amazing sight.
  12. Nice sketch, thanks for sharing.
  13. Took my Heritage 130 and AZGti in the cabin to Chile, no problem. Just a bit heavy but within BA's limit. Tripod of course in checked baggage.
  14. Just glimpsed the comet yesterday at 23:00 with 15x70 from north London, highly light-polluted sky. Will try again tonight.
  15. I've had a 25mm, 16mm and 9.5mm Mead 3000 for many years now and still use them. I find them better than my 6.4 mm 4000.
  16. Thanks for replying, Oliver is moving to France and not open at the moments 😪 Looks like I'll have to wait for Etalon repair when Beloptik is back in business...
  17. My PST was knocked over and fell on a hard surface. Focus is fine but I cannot see H-alfa details on the disk anymore even with the Etalon collar turned full to the right (viewed from eyepiece end). When I turned the Etalon collar towards the left a double image appeared. I'm afraid the etalon has de-contacted as a result of the fall, has anyone had a similar problem and is there anywhere that can repair it? I heard there is someone in Germany called Oliver Smie or Semiei, who may help? Any info would be greatly appreciated. I have had this PST for many years and always enjoyed good definition in H-alpha, no perceived sign of 'rust' on the filters, giving me a lot good times observing the sun and sketching. I hope it can be brought back to its best.
  18. Incredible sketch! Well done.
  19. Welcome Peter. I have been to Bochum several times and enjoyed your local planetarium shows and also the Bochum Museum. But I know how light-polluted the Ruhr area is... Enjoy your 130 Heritage, I have one and it's a nice little scope and specially on a AZGTi mount.
  20. Beautiful sketch. My favorite DSO.
