  9. Thanks! It´s astonishing how much can be captured in one short exposure (at least for this rather bright target).

  14. Drove a couple of kilometers. Set my telescope up and.... it`s a clear night :) Let`s hope it stays like this all night so that i can finish IC 443

    Thanks! There are still some issues in this picture like the uneven field, but on the whole i`m also happy. Next winter season i will surely revisit this target. That`s the good thing about astrophotography: In general your subjects don`t "run away" :)

    I reprocessed my M45 data with Pixinsight. The DBE tool allowed me to remove the vignette.

    First time i used my new astrotrac mount. I wanted to start easy and only attached an 85mm lens to my D5300. This is a 8 minute exposure at Iso 100 and f4. I`m not so much impressed about the performance of the lens, but i think the performance of the astrotrac is quite good. The image scale is 10" per pixel.
