  1. Absolutely, thanks Geof I'm testing wavesharp at the moment so would be interesting to try your data.
  2. Sorry Geof I was meaning wavelets in the sharpening sense. People talk about Registax, astrosurface or wavesharp but in my view there are so many different combinations of wavelet settings that similar results can be attained from either application. I really need to get some new data of my own rather than waffling 🥴
  3. Its the fineness of detail I'm on about Kostas. Damien's images have such fine detail if we are making a comparison in that regard 🙂
  4. Hmmm.....I think its the type of sharpening. The detail in the softer version still looks coarser than your previous November images.
  5. Yep that is a bit too much sharpening. The detail is becoming bloated especially on the north pole. If thats grade 3 and the first version is grade 2 I'd go for grade 1 🙂
  6. Great detail again Geof! Personally I prefer your previous images from 25th and I think 11th Nov? They had finer detail with a more natural appearance in my opinion.
  7. I've had my SW Flextube auto tracking Dob for over 10 years and its always had intermitent tracking yips (jumps) in AZ. Some nights its fine and other times its very annoying. In the past I've tried tightening or slackening the AZ tension nut but nothing changes. Anyone had this or know of a sollution? Here is an example :
  8. Can't face going out in the cold after working in it all day. Feel like I've been on an arctic expedition 😳 Same thing happened last December. Did I ever mention last June? 😎
  9. Thats another cracker Kostas! Lovely processing.
  10. You are on the right track but a 2x Barlow would help a lot to bring out the finer detail. F12 would be ideal for that sensor (5x pixel size) so maybe a 2x Barlow + extension tube.
  11. Wow! Nigella these are the best Jupiter images I've seen on this forum in 2023! The natural detail is simply awesome! Its been mentioned about oversampling at f25 but its certainly not done you any harm. Couldn't resist another tweak on your colour balance (auto rgb balance in registax) and also enhanced colour vibrance in image analyser :
  12. Fabulous detail on these Nigella! Hope you don't mind me tweaking the colour balance in image analyser to reduce the yellow hue :
  13. Excellent detail! Just the colour balance being very yellow?
  14. That looks like a clear PB Kostas! Outstanding! That gorgeous mother of pearl glow that Jupiter produces in good seeing and great processing. Thank goodness you and Geof are hitting the target else the rest of us would probably pack it in lol Inspirational! 👏
  15. That colour shot is as sweet as a nut! Geof you have nailed it! Thats the best Jupiter shot we've seen on here this year! Gorgeous colour balance and fine understated detail.
  16. Remarkable! I'd love to see what you can get in good seeing!
  17. Very nice! Yet to try my 585 on dso but very impressed by your result!
  18. Thats excellent for a first attempt! I notice there is a grid pattern across the image. Which video codec did you use for capture?
  19. There's a rumour going around here that it's going to be clear on Friday night 😮
  20. Well done Kostas! Sharp shooting Inbetween those clouds! You've got some nice detail there.👍
  21. Nice capture Kostas! Glimpses of last spring 😉
