Tuesday is supposed to be a good day, but not holding my breath for it just in case!

Managed a couple of hours last night until 10pm. Got the darkest skies until the moon crept up, and managed to see the Saturn nebula for the first time, and I think I got Neptune too, so well chuffed!  

sounds like you had a goodnight Gus, the sat-neb is quite a hard one in the vis, it stayed cloudy here for most of the night mate, im hoping for better skys tonight.  charl.

The Goto mount helps a lot here. If I had to star hop to find it I don't think I would have found it as easy.  

Hope you had some nice skies for your widefield stuff Charl!

Away for work at the moment mate, so even if it's clear outside I can't make the most of it. Hoping for Friday or Saturday night to be clear when I'm back home. Fingers crossed!

Nice focuser Charl. I got the same one and suffered your fate too with the clouds alas when I fitted it!  

Just got a new 10mm EP today too, so more clouds coming over for me! Groan! Hehe!

I know what you mean Charl. Getting severe withdrawal symptoms from viewing thru my scope. Last bit of dark sky I say was to look at Jupiter in the murk for about 10 mins in a slight break in the clouds. Was hoping June might bring some nice fine weather, but no luck,so far here! Grrrrrrr.........????

yer mate its been 3 days since ive seen sol and then it was through cloud, today its so dark ive got the lights on in the house, hope we get a break soon.. charl

I don't see much scanning the sky from home. I only just managed to detect M51 in my 250px from home- stands out like a sore thumb at the dark site. Summer is a planetary-only time of year for me :/

Let me join to the group. All March and begining of April ... no more than 5 days.

Since 28 of January and up to today only 3 acceptable (not so good either) nights...!  

good idea Pip,theres a small chance at 8pm it becoming 50% clear here, but looking outside it dont look good,but if the wind picks up it might blow it away, ill keep my finger crossed.charl.

For me, whenever clearoutside says something like "14% overcast" or "25% overcast" it ends up being more like "14% not overcast". Like the other day when I got all set up with my camera to see clouds forming over the horizon and engulf the whole sky...

 well lastnight i got 25min on the orion neb, which was a suprize because it said 100% cloud cover. so i keep having a look every 15 min, im allways hopefull, you have to be in this hobbie mate..

I've compiled a list for tonight, too. Shame the forecast keeps lying about the visibility. It always predicts "Very good" or "Excellent" but i only ever get "Good" at best...

ive just took a few test shots of the flame and the seeings fair to good so far.

Same here, my skies got clouded over, then it rained and the visibility when there was no cloud was a borderline "moderate" (terrible). Ring nebula only just detectable.

at least we got a bit of skytime, next session hopefully will be better....

I managed to get out just now. Moon was so bright even at 0.7mm exit pupil. Got some good views of some craters real close up, 180x. It was especially good since I didn't need my glasses. Then the clouds rolled in, might have been yours, xtreemchaos, since they came from the north.

not so good for me Pip, tryed to image the flame but no joy ,washed out by the moon, i should of kown better,but i got some time useing my new mount so it wasnt a total loss...

well I had cloud with a nice strong breeze blowing tut

im in a drastic situation MG, i havent seen the sky for 3 days with the darn fog and clouds ,"oh the agony"...

think we need to find out if theres an old red indian 'Sun' dance we could all try.
