    here i stand broken hearted thay forcast clear and the clouds never parted.

    solar imaging is just a illusion filled with sadness and confusion.😒😉😀.

      yes hot as hell here, im looking at jupiter at the mo, theres thin cloud here but  i can still see a bit of detail, saturns next. goodluck mate.

    fighting fit again but nothing to do, skys are like Venus, ive watched so many old sky@night eps my eyes hurt. come on weather give us a chance please !.

      thanks John, glad sols back in range for you, i have a range thingy here in meidrim , six hours at the winter solsist and 1.5 hours in the summer and anywhere inbetween the rest of the days but luckerly a chance everyday cloud permiting. i look forward to you images. clear skys. charl.

      I just had a terrible night too! Set up all my gear (deep sky and lunar scopes) got them properly cooled, polar aligned and focused. The night started well and I got a good set of terminator images. By the time I was guiding on a DSO with the other scope, clouds rolled in and didn't clear until I pack everything away at 2am. I was really looking forward to snapping M105 and the Leo triplet! Now I'm tired and want to start a less weather dependent hobby.

      thanks spaceman, I got a few shots of the moon at 4.30 pm but nothing after, hopefully tonight will be better, don't want to have to watch big brother with the misses again, theres only so much a man can take.:icon_biggrin: clear skys charl.

      Nice focuser Charl. I got the same one and suffered your fate too with the clouds alas when I fitted it! :( 

      Just got a new 10mm EP today too, so more clouds coming over for me! Groan! Hehe!

    clear outside,200p setup and cooling, think ill play potluck tonight " point it up and see what i can find" mind you M5 is well placed tonight. hope you all have clear skys  charl.

      I don't see much scanning the sky from home. I only just managed to detect M51 in my 250px from home- stands out like a sore thumb at the dark site. Summer is a planetary-only time of year for me :/

      good idea Pip,theres a small chance at 8pm it becoming 50% clear here, but looking outside it dont look good,but if the wind picks up it might blow it away, ill keep my finger crossed.charl.

      For me, whenever clearoutside says something like "14% overcast" or "25% overcast" it ends up being more like "14% not overcast". Like the other day when I got all set up with my camera to see clouds forming over the horizon and engulf the whole sky...

       well lastnight i got 25min on the orion neb, which was a suprize because it said 100% cloud cover. so i keep having a look every 15 min, im allways hopefull, you have to be in this hobbie mate..

      I've compiled a list for tonight, too. Shame the forecast keeps lying about the visibility. It always predicts "Very good" or "Excellent" but i only ever get "Good" at best...

      Same here, my skies got clouded over, then it rained and the visibility when there was no cloud was a borderline "moderate" (terrible). Ring nebula only just detectable.

    I get 5 days of sun then cloud, cloud, cloud, first the weather lifts you up then drops you right back down again. what makes it worse is all that action going on on sol, think I might get a hair transplant so I can pull it out. please join with me in willing some better skys.  charl.

      Tried nabbing Venus and Mars about 30 mins ago. Venus was blazing away whilst I took my dog for a walk, but hiding behind the clouds when I got the scope out alas. Hoping for clear skies later on at least.
