  1. Thanks everyone for all the welcome messages not to mention the little pearls of philosophy! Have to say so far my favourite is James on his tractor! Will let you know how I get on when I return to Brighton armed with all this knowledge I am picking up from Ollie here at Les Granges.
  2. I am new to astronomy and I am particularly interested in visual astronomy. I live in Brighton and so light pollution is quite a problem. Add to this that I don't drive and opportunities to take my telescope to some darker skies are quite limited. If anyone in the Brighton area is planning an observing event I would be very interested to know more about it and perhaps join you? At the moment I am staying with Ollie Penrice at Les Granges in the south of France where skies are beautifully dark and I am learning a great deal. Ollie and Monique are incredibly welcoming and I'm having a great time. Anyway, as I said I'm a total beginner but eager to develop my knowledge and share enthusiasm. Hope to hear from like minded enthusiasts.
