  1. Amazing, Geof! You and Kostas make quite the imaging power duo
  2. Cracking image, Nigella! The color balance by @Space Cowboy really did the trick Reggie
  3. Brilliant, Nigella! And detail on Io as well. Bravo! What scope and camera did you use? Reggie
  4. Incredible, Geof...or should I rephrase that...CREDIBLE! 👀You did it! Big congratulations! 👏👏What in your opinion would be the limiting aperture for imaging Uranus rings (and surface features)? Reggie
  5. Great looking images, even with the shadow. @geoflewis and @Kon are top-notch astronomers and imagers. They will steer you in the right direction Reggie
  6. Beautiful image! Easy on the eye. I like lucky imaging Reggie
  7. Holy smokes!! 👀These are classic, Geof. I could look at these all night! Ready to be published
  8. Great image, Ian, especially considering the circumstances. You're definitely going in the right direction. I'm learning stuff all the time Reggie
  9. I like your images and the animation is uber-cool! Don't feel bad, Lee. I make pizza, too! 🤣🤣 I think that saying is slowly becoming iconic 👀 Reggie
  10. You have some nice images here. Geof is first class; he will help you get the best images out of your gear Reggie
  11. The second image looks much more natural. Great shot Reggie
  12. Nice shot, Graham. Very natural! Reggie
  13. Take good care of yourself and have a wonderful Christmas and a prosperous and healthy New Year
  14. Beautiful Saturn, Geof. I can't wait to see your yes Neptune image! Regards, Reggie
  15. Thanks for sharing this, Steve, and merci, Thierry! I first noticed dimming around the 4-second mark, peaking around the 10-second mark, and recovering by the 14-second mark. As noted, it's more easily seen at .25x; the effect is subtle.
  16. Beautiful images! Believe me, I understand the desire to push it as far as you can Excellent balance of elements! Reggie
  17. Great first attempt, Roy 🤩. I like going for the GRS and moon/shadow transits when they come around; they make for dramatic images.
  18. Thanks, Geof. If you do decide to try it again I will be waiting to see the result
  19. Thanks. You're not kidding with the placement! I made sure my finder was spot-on first of all. Then, I used a nearby "bright star", 20 Piscium, to focus. A little star hopping and field sweeping and I managed to get the little blue dot on Firecap's screen! Hooray! The image was still pretty dim even with the max exposure setting (10ms) and max gain but I got it
  20. Wow, that's a nice prime-focus shot! Imagine the quality you would get with one of those nifty ASI cameras!
  21. Thanks, Kostas. You urged me to do it and the sky agreed, lol!
  22. It was quite a challenge, but I was up for it, and with a clear night calling I couldn't resist! Same setup: 180mm Mak, ASI 224mc, Celestron 2x Barlow, Firecapture, Registax 6, and Photoshop. The most difficult part was getting such a dim target (especially using Barlow) onto the sensor: For comparison, here again is my recent image of Uranus using the same setup: Cheers! Reggie
