  1. Yeah it’s low, 22˚ here and I live on a little mountain but I usually don’t mess with objects so low. I took more exposures tonight to see if it’s possible to get any color. I guess colors going to be funky due to all the atmo.
  2. Bright supernova type II in NGC 1097 discovered 2023/09/08 by Mohammad Odeh. https://www.wis-tns.org/object/2023rve https://www.astronomycenter.net/articles/2023/09/10/sn2023rve?l=en
  3. My cameras a popping out of connection occasionally. I would like a source of quality USB cables in short lengths, do anyone know of any?
  4. Are you still satisfied with the pier? I am considering one for the AM5.
  5. Thanks for a nice review, well done. Looks like a decent mount for the price. I would have liked to see how it preformed with a lighter load (60-80mm scope) also. Some big mounts can struggle with light loads. Question: what was the image scale on the Horse head neb?
  6. Congratulations on a very nice result! Can I ask why you decided to use f5.6 and if you used step down rings?
  7. For my TS-PL80 f/6 with TSRED80 0.8 reducer it’s 61mm. Back Focus - distances from the M48 thread to the camera sensor depends on the focal length of the telescope: ♦ Focal Length to 350 mm .... 70 mm ♦ Focal Length to 420 mm .... 65 mm ♦ Focal Length 450-500 mm ... 61 mm ♦ Focal Length 510-600 mm ... 58 mm ♦ Focal Length 610-700 mm ... 57 mm ♦ Focal Length 710-790 mm ... 56 mm ♦ Focal Length from 800 mm .. 55 mm
  8. That is a very fine image sir. Did you use a field corrector on the Photo Line 130? No Ha data?
  9. Well, I have asked the same question here but with Fornax and the GTI. Good to see that you have the same question. I have not purchased the GTI yet, but I think I will try. To to get away from the polar scope you can mount some kind of spacer with a little hight on the Skytracker and then mount the GTI. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1044142-REG/cambo_99211106_compact_camera_tripod_mount_riser.html Ridgidness is a factor when you do mount two things together, be sure that everything is a tight fit. The waste of time is not to do it in my opinion.
