  1. Toy arrangement till the recuurence of dismantel sickness
  2. True , about autofocuser. but you can find a way around. Filterwheel is not a problem , the one i use s quiet heavy still it doesnt tilt in any direction. Two brackets comes with a Vixen style D.tail and the guidescope clamp acts as a reinforcement. Maybe on the reinforcement some modification to attach the A.focuser?
  3. Use a LP filter screwd infront of the lens , works fine. Dithering is a must for DSLR,s. to reduce noise. B 4 u print out bracket/ holder, buy from Phillipe in France. http://www.astrokraken.fr/samyang-135mm-f-2-c30078976, well made , i use it. hope this helps. This will provide you more time for PDS Collimation?135mm f:2 bracket + micro-focuser Par astrokraken le 2 Juillet 2018 à 00:33 This bracket allows to mount your Samyang 135 f:2 telephoto lens on an equatorial mount for astrophotography. A hinged micro-focuser ring has been mounted on the lens, to fine
  4. 1000% . Shot with Sony A7 and Samyang , around 15 frames @ 300s iso 800. Cone N, with SBIG ST 8300 M . R & G ,3 frames @ 300s, B 6 frames @ 300s, Ha 12 frames @ 600s. Rosette N , same as above. Cheers
  5. This lens is always a pleasure to use, great performance and handling is uncomplicated. Sometimes i use in combination with Asahi Takumar 135 mm for HaLRGB. Cs Rush
  6. Hi, Thanx a million 4 the help and tips. Couldnt continue during the weekend. 20 seconds gone with the wind.?, can I repeat with a delay ?? Do have a Cheshire now with X hairs. Hex_ Allen replaced with Bobs -Knobs. tmw i will start the final tweaking again . How does it really look like fully tweaked through a Cheshire. ? Something like this, Horrible Image , Sorry
  7. tried to keep it under 29 seconds ? . After twist & turn , secondoryl looks like this. Bvor twist and turn You r very much right, im almost there. if the first image looks fine , ready to continue with the primary . cheers.
  8. Swear i cant blame the drawtube or the eyepeace holder as Cheshire CT is held by a ring holder (no thumb screws) I wish too u r not right, it was hours when all this began, slowly its turning into days ?
  9. Yes, primary is to the left and the dark corner is bottom of secondary (right) towards the opening of scope. Nearly there. Huh, great soothing words, muchas gracias. Im on the spiral ladder to the stars:)
  10. Well , finally the hour of truth has come. i.e the Cheshire CT from TS with CONCENTER tool test. Everything i left untouched from previous tweaking (laser show) And here s the View through Cheshire CT. Through Concenter tool, Wonder if i ever will get those rings aligned with primary to secondary and vice versa cos of the offset ? An an image after the previous laser tweak. The halo around the bright star is gleaming . Primary edges need tuning ? paint it rough black ? Next adventure ? Thanx much CS, Rush 2 hrs L and 1 hr RGB with the prvious laser tweak test. Bright star core light streaks around. Sorry if its dirty crude processed , red gradient kill next time after serious extrem imaging:)
  11. Hi, ? D. tube = Draw tube,of eypiece holder. You are right .the real test is under the night sky.? Well , finally the hour of truth has come. i.e the Cheshire CT from TS with CONCENTER tool test. Everything i left untouched from previous tweaking (laser show) And here s the View through Cheshire CT. Is this OK ? True the secondary is quiet out of center, cos of the offset may be ?. this s kind of weird b cos that offset makes me want to tweak again , no matter its postioned right or not?.
  12. Battle with F5 is the same as F4 .some screws are ill fitting and kind of small , thats all . Internet offers wisdom of lightnig speed, can make even Plumbers rocket scientist with few clicks. God,dont mean to under rate a plumbers intelligence. Some r bible long and totally sense twisted these articles. Create a sense of scariness to touch the secondary or the scope itself. To be honest there s nothing so really very complicated with this mirror and few Chinese screws . Kind of exaggerated this dont touch it propoganda. Most of them are crude made and kind of simple. This F4 mirror is glued with double side adhesive tape for carpets and home appliances i guess. While washing mirror i was cautious not to wet it. Using dew straps around and overheating can make loose the adhesive tape (who knows) Primary too needs cleaning, so after mastering offset secondary lesson move on to the next mystic myth:) Meantime waiting for the Cheshire CT, with collimation cap got the secondary round as possible. Barlowed (2XBarlow) the laser and adjusted the secondary doughnut on the laser window screen. This is where im now, View through the d.tube Barlowed laser and secondary doughnut on the laser window. Test shot on NGC 3187 and co inspired by Mr Alacante Ordered one TS Concenter along with Cheshire CT. lets see what a Concenter ( magic tool ) does. Sorry , if i wrote too much. Thanx 4 reading:) CS
  13. Hi, thanx 4 ur help, much appreciated. Sorry 4 the late reply, was away 4 weekend. Well, I started from the scratch again, made secondary circular, and primary fully from beginning. Since i never used a Cheshire ST. I had to order by TS. must be on the way. Meanwhile i did all that i could with a Colli cap and Barlowed laser. looks like this, view through the D.tube. Primary doughnut centered with Barlowed laser beam Img. train with a SW F4 aplanatic C.corrector and IDAS LP filter. Attached is a Lum stkd test image. is this getting somewhere decent? ?, thanx much, CS Rush.
  14. Thank you for the warm welcome to the crucial warfields?, ordred a long handle from TS . Meanwhile continue with my self made collimating cap . Read so many articles on collimating , can sing collimaion blues in C. Cs Rush PS : this scope was send by a gentle person from UK to Germany. Plus me giving a hot bath to the secondary made it all worse.?
  15. Well Well, Thank you great people for the precise detailed explanations and helping spirits. Right now Im walking the front line of secondary collimating battlefield, but reaching somewhere near the shimmering winning path?. I don’t have a Ceshire C T., but have only a self made primitive collimating cap with which I used to collimate my old GSO Newton. But this Quattro beast is quiet weird as all the primary screws are extrem sensitive and the Offset secondary. Here is bahtinov focus test which looks promising. Will update my progression, Thanks to all, great week end, CS Rush
  16. Thank u all great guys who came forward to help me sort out this problem on the parallel thread titled Need Collimating. You are all wonderful and this makes SGL a freindly astronomy forum. Cheers Cs Rush
  17. Hi , apologise if im gatecrashing i do have a simmilar issue, i.e when i look through the cap, Reflection shows, a left bootom clip and the top one , focuser and the 3rd clip refelection on the right is missing. What should i do from this point ? any advice will be helpful. thanx man, CS Rush
  18. Thanx much 4 the advice, Unfortunatley this aint helping me?. Need something more specific. its collimated but the positioning of the secondary probably s incorrect , dont know. Laser spots and collimation cap view doesnt show anything unusall. CS Rush
  19. Dear stargazers, did a star test with an 8 " Quattro / F4 which reveals a peculiar shaped Dfocused star. Is this normal cos of the secondary.m offset or am i pushing the 2ndry too much towards the primary ? I washed the secondary and added a milk bottle washer to see if it makes any difference. It was looking much worse, so i put it all back n the original state. This is how it looks like now. Sweet astrobaby tipps was a huge help, still i m unable to decide where to start. Need ur help, thank you all n advance, CS Rush
  20. Those red gradients are from light poluttion, will not go away by dithering. Will vanish as u appraoch a dark sky site , r u using LP filters ? Here is an HRGB test version 2hrs ha 1 hr RGb shot from an yellow zone., where the Ha data covers the light polllution disturbances. Cs Rush
  21. Thank you for sharing your data, was fun adding those colours ?. CS
  22. Hi, little more colours added to sweet Rosetta:) Hope i didnt ruin your image. cheers Rush
  23. Happy birthday , The day s urs:) so hardly u can make a wrong choice?. FOV of 4/3 rd is by far greater than than Alt -? 183 series i guess. Well , if u r comming from DSLR path, 1600 is the right choice. Its worth every cent U invest in a bigger sensor no matter which optics U want to use., apart from planetary stuff. Cheers and a nice bday, Rush
