  1. Matt , how have you been? Hopefully get some imaging in. I got finally got the 1600mm pro finally and I've ran on Orion and the Horsehead nebulae and was wondering what size filters do you use with your newtonian ? I have a zwo mini 5 with lrgbHa , I had a big whitish glow spot around my target  with it darker on the corners of the frame and was wondering about whether the size of the sensor needed a larger filter . Dave at highpoint told me that I needed a larger filter , I told him that I was using a Paracorr 2 in my image train with my f3.9 800fl ,then he said 1.25 should work . I just would like to know from someome that actually uses the camera with similiar equipment. Stepping Beyond

  2. Olly , I've had a terrible start to 2020 with the weather and bad equipment , I received a new Meade lx85 and retuned it for bad performance with the audiostar handpad , wouldn't even perform with 3rd party software and then went crzy running away from the time I turned it on. I used my #497 autostar from my lxd55 mount and it did the same thing and sent the mount back . I connected it to the lxd55 again wanting to shoot some lunars and it just keeps slewing and won't stop when I get my alignment star centered . I've no clue how to get I atched with starpatch or what driver to use on the Weasner site . Can you help me ?

Hi, I'm sorry but I've no relevant experience with this kit and am pretty hopeless with any kind of electronics or IT problem anyway. The only thing that comes to mind is that Meade software hit a belated 'millenium bug' in, I think, 2018. It was to do with the time signal on GPS satellites or something like that. Our 14 inch LX200 went crazy when trying to align and got nowhere. All I did was switch off the GPS to do a manual star align and it then worked better than ever so I haven't bothered with the Meade update. I don't know if this might have any connection with your problem but Googling Meade millenium bug or GPS bug should pull up lots of information.

I hope you crack this one.

I tossed in the towel on Meade and now have a Celestron Advanced vx that connects and works with the third party software . I research ,  asked everyone I know and went on the forums . It's a done deal. thank you

  3. Matt , do you use maximDL for your asi1600 cooled ? I'm trying to get my imx 174MM cooler to be recognized by maximDL, I want to do my calibration frames before the next night out. I was out 5 hrs and got everything working with Sharpcap but, I don't use Sharpcap for DS imaging. If you would be so " Kind" as to help me get this issue resolved, I would be most grateful . SB

  4. ChrisH, this is{ SB} or Ronnie about the starry night program issue is that I've never done anything like this before . I need just a nudge or 5 in the right direction on inputting the correct info in the configure section. I don't doubt that it's a good program they wouldn't keep making them if it wasn't worthy .. I've been using Stellarium but, since setting up my new i5 computer I don't want freeware on or near it. ChrisH can you offer some help to get me going?

  5. The weathers starting to shape up wifi booster/ extender is working great full signal all ready to broadcast. Notify me on how and when I can start to" SHINE" .
