Hi, I've been away from anything astronomy related for a long time due to health complications but I'm back and already hitting walls. I have purchased an Altair Astro GPCAM (colour) however it seems incapable of running on a Windows 10 Pro platform. Whilst both my laptop and desktop detect the camera when I plug the camera into the usb2 port, the Altair capture program fails to detect the camera. I've run through all the Trouble Shooting guidance on Altair's website but to no avail. In need of advice and maybe a solution. All advice will be very much appreciated 🙂 Ultra wide 150 degree FOV F1.6p High Qualpns that fits into the nose of the GPCAM or other 1/3" Astro Cam to take near whole sky photographs of meteor showers or star rotation and such. TBH, when I looked into this, I got the impression the Mak units would make the 'balance' of the scope very front heavy and possibly prone to tilting forward at a worrying rate.

So for light work, just some casual astrophotography, probably imaging brightest of the dso"s, using short subs (& darks) with a Canon 450d, then stacked in Registax. Would this ota be suitable for a SW AZ Synscan mount, replacing the stock 130p ota?
