  1. Hi Ed, Here's a link to the best place for info on the ETX; http://www.weasner.com/etx/menu.html Hope it helps, Peter
  2. This time of year is particularly bad for moisture in the night air, you could try warming/drying the area with a hair dryer... but if it's already in the Quickmenu you'll need to make a selection to exit, if moisture is the problem it should work for sometime before it builds up & starts again. Peter
  3. Maybe worth posting this issue here; https://groups.io/g/Sitechservo Give as many details as you can remember. Peter
  4. My guess is although the mount was pointing East you had tracked past the meridian into the west therefore needing a flip to advice further west... Peter
  5. Thanks for letting me know, glad you got it sorted. Peter
  6. Here's a couple of pictures that hopefully explain the issue & show how to fix! Peter This picture shows how corroded this area can get, once the thin coating on the track has eroded it's susceptible to shorting to ground this can be moisture/dew if this happens it will activate the QuickMenu & cycle though until the short is broken, see Gemini L4 manual for a fuul explanation of the QuickMenu... as you can see silicone stops this being an issue!
  7. Hello Ian, I once had a similar issue, mine was caused by a short on the main board tracks that run under the 15 pin socket where the hand controller is plugged into the gemini controller. Over time the socket can loosen a little due to usage & the board coating gets worn leaving the tracks exposed & open to shorts, I fixed mine with a silicon potting compound... if you decide you have the same issue before applying make sure the area is dry. Please feel free to PM if you have any questions. Peter
  8. I had a problem with my Chroma OIII filter, got in contact with Chroma direct & sent them images showing the issue. They replied asking that I return it for a replacement, also supplied the RMS labels for the return... I even received the replacement filter before I managed to send off the old one! Ended with an email from them explaining that when tested a thin layer of lubricant had found its way onto the surface of the filter which had caused the issue... still a little baffled by this but can't believe the standard of service! Peter
  9. This is my process using AA5 & PS2, I've rotated, cropped & framed the image...hope that's OK? Peter
  10. My image didn't seem to load properly, have deleted this entry. Peter
  11. I use a StarTech 10 port USB Industrial Hub on the mount with 2x Atik One 9.0 cameras, l think they make a 4 port USB 2.0 Industrial version... these need a 12v supply. Peter
  12. Hello Rick, I have the flattener shown in the Robindonne post, I've added a few measurements that may help... I think the optics would be the same in both versions as they would have been specified by WO. Peter Please substitute depth for length where necessary...
  13. I had a similar issue with PHD2 the last couple of nights, decided it could be the high temperatures effecting my uncooled guide camera... making a new set of darkframe at 24° C seems to have fixed it. Here's what the issue looked like on screen; Peter
  14. What is this desiccant tube you speak of?
  15. Hi Dark? I have the part you need, think it's original part/parts consisting of a 20mm tube with M62 female thread & a 5mm tube M62 male to M48 male with an internal M48 filter thread for... pictures show its marked as the previous owner was a little over zealous releasing a binding thread. PM me with an offer if you're interested? Peter
  16. Hi Maarten, Glade your making some progress... Once you get the CCD cooling you may find the next issue is moisture within the chamber, I now use the QHY desiccant tube with my QHY8... before flats were a bit hit & miss which drove me nuts! It's obvious now that a fine mist was forming on the CCD as the issue has gone! Peter
  17. Hi Maarten, The only conversion I've seen used the DC-102 controller. QHY8_modification.pdf Peter
  18. Hi Martin, Have you considered medium format lenses, they usually have more backfocus... maybe a 6x7 Pentax lens would make it possible to still utilise the FW8? Peter
  19. At 1230 euros, £1100 that is a good way cheaper than the current ASI1600mm pro price. Adam Think you'll find the online price list for the Moravian cameras is exclusive of VAT! Peter
  20. Hi Martin, No experience with this combo but you may get more help with a little more info; What's the total backfocus of the camera & filterwheel combined? Also percent thread on the filterwheel? Peter
  21. Modern Astronomy are the sole UK importers & are collected in batches from Lucas by them, you have the choice of collection from Modern Astronomy or delivery in person by Bernard.
  22. The OIII is a mix of 15 & 30 minute with an Astrodon 3nm, the background sky is much better on the longer exposures... guess the 15 mins. could be just adding noise as showing hardly any signal above a murky background sky.
  23. Bit slow with the processing on this out of season/year HOO image. Peter
  24. I've had a similar issue with my One9.0 when using Windows 10, found a reboot of Windows with the camera running & connected fixes it! Peter
