  5. Narrowband Ha and Lodestar

The images in this album are captures made while EAA viewing with a Lodestar X2 and Lodestar Live s/w. An Orion 7nm narrowband filter was used to enhance the Ha of emission nebulae.

  6. Wide FOV NB Ha Lodestar X2

These captures were made during a near real time viewing session using a small 50mm finder scope and a Lodestar X2 mono camera equipped with narrow band Ha filter. The scope has a focal length of 180mm that allows viewing of large emission nebulae such as California, heart and Soul and Rosette. Using such a small scope does create field curvature problems at the edges and corners, but still presents a nice view of the DSO.

  8. Lodestar Live v0.11

These captures were taken during near real time viewing sessions using a SX Lodestar X2 and X2c CCD camera. The image processing was controled by the new version of Lodestar Live v0.11 authored by Paul in the UK. The program is easy to use and provides hours of enjoyable NRTV with the Lodestars. The new version provides for better color control and auto histogram scaling. Thanks, Paul for producing a wonderful addition to EAA.

  9. NB Ha and Lodestar X2c

These captures were made during a near real time viewing session using a SX Lodestar X2c camera and Loadstar Live software. The wide FOV was the result of using an Orion 50mm mini guider at it's native focal length of 162mm. A narrow band 7nm Ha filter was also used to enhance the contrast of emission nebulae. Thanks to Dom for developing this technique for the color version of the Lodestar.

  10. Globs w/Lodestar and LL

These images of globular clusters were captures taken during a near real time EAA viewing session. They demonstrate the ability for Lodestar Live to balance the exposure with non linear scaling.

  13. Ultrastar C + C6 + Hyperstar

These images were captured during a live broadcast on NSN from Mauna Kea, Hawaii at 9200'.  The near real time views were captured using a SX Ultrastar C camera and Paul Shears' Starlight Live software on a Macbook Pro.  The scope setup was an Evolution 6 equipped with Hyperstar.  Exposure and stacking info is in the caption of each image.  Single exposures show no info and all are 30 sec or less.
