  2. Very well deserved Avani.
  3. Hello and a warm welcome to the SGL. You should be able to see Jupiter and it’s moons using your 9 mm eye piece. This will give you a magnification of just over 60x. A smart phone holder does make taking photos easier

  7. Hello and a warm welcome to the SGL. Have you tried the supplied eyepieces ? I would expect that the 20 mm ep will be ok, though the 10 mm might not be that good. The BST starguiders come highly recommended on this site. They cost just under £50 each. The series does not have 20 or 10 mm models , but you could try the 18 and 8 mm eps. Perhaps try the 8 mm first and see the improvement it gives.
  8. No chance here either Stu. 60 mph winds and driving rain.

  10. Getting ready for the opposition of Mars later this year. A nice set of colour filters, thanks to Piero and a book I have wanted to read for a while

  21. Yes I was aware of this. Unfortunately I missed my annual trip to Astrofarm this year due to family illness.
  22. So sad to hear this. I got to know Andrew well during 3 trips to Astrofarm. His love and knowledge of astronomy always shone through. He even got me to take some DSO images and patiently went through the best way to process them with me. Something I never intended to do. Two of these images now hang on my study wall. Every time I look at them I will remember the kind, cheerful man who became my friend. RIP Andrew and condolences to Sue and his family
