Seany, you won't be disappointed - definitely a great scope to start with. Get yourself a battery pack too, that motor loves juice! Chris -

Hi Seany, I've got a Celestron Nexstar 130SLT, goto, easy alignment, simple to collimate and use. (£330 on FLO) The only thing I'd say, if you obtain a brand new one, I'd invest in some better EPs and a battery pack for the motor, batteries don't last long enough to align. Happy choosing. Chris -

Thinking the same mate, might end up cooped in my tent for the duration, with my girlfriend. -

So true, no Android alternative seemingly. Planned on going camping this weekend, should I, shouldn't I? -

What's this weather app, that has "Scope nights", I keep seeing? -
Yes, that's awesome advice, cheers from me too. I've been using my phone recently and I'm unhappy with the majority of the results. Thank you.

Case required - Celestron 130SLT
cphilpott84 replied to cphilpott84's topic in Getting Started Equipment Help and Advice
Once upon a time, I did actually measure out the scope, when I was attempting to get a custom case built, which, was absolutely extortionate. Found the dimensions, obviously with room for comfort. Length - around 65cm. Width - about 25cm. What do people do with the Tripods? Oi oi. Essentially, I want the case to contain everything however I'm residing to the fact, this isn't practical and most people only case the OTA, right? Cheers guys. -

I've only one duvet, she's warming my bed right now. -
When you get a response Matt, I want in. Currently using an attachment for my LG G2, for photography and nearing boiling point, where I want to purchase too - would also love to be able to use it for general photography also. Found this site, in the past, but they're all modified. http://cheapastrophotography.vpweb.co.uk/Available-Cameras.html

Just seen these responses, cheers guy. Flight case is the one, I think - need something sturdy and love the idea of it being packed away, as currently, it's constantly set up in my room. -
Awesome. I'll have a look. My LG G2 has a pretty awesome camera on it, before I expand with a DSLR (at some point), it'd be great to utilise it for some imagery. Cheers for the knowledge, never would have thought!

Where'd you get the holder from, Andrew?

So, I tried it out. LG G2, hovering above my 15mm EP, with and without Barlow. Although very difficult, lots of fun. https://i.imgur.com/HW7mVt8.jpg https://i.imgur.com/AZFH8he.jpg https://i.imgur.com/3UCU7gm.jpg https://i.imgur.com/olDJlF1.jpg Focus not 100%, hand not steady enough, especially through the Barlow!
