  1. Thanks for your reply. Sorry for being dense but the only reference I can find for "UKABS" is the uk assoc for buddhism I had hoped not to rely on on divine intervention.
  2. Hi I'm trying to find out whether this scope on ebay is worth having as a starter scope http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TS-Optics-6-Telescope-150-750-EQ3-1-with-moonfilter-ideal-for-beginners-1507-/370608271691?pt=UK_Photography_Telescopes&hash=item5649f9714b its relative quality compared to others of a similar spec and also whether it would be any good for astrophotography if I were to match it with a sturdier mount? Thanks for your time peeps.

    Hi everyone

I'm very much a newbie to astronomy and have yet to buy a scope. I live in Dorset and hope if anyone lives in the same area they would be able to pass on a few good sites to observe from. I would love to get into astrophotography and have a dslr but know I'm going to need a sturdy mount to work with. Anyway, I look forward to it all and all the advice and knowledge I will undoubtedly benefit from by being here. Cheers
