  2. Hi, is this good or bad for an unmodded neq6 pro guiding?29E0273C-EBB0-4CD6-A0A7-426A0D8BEC54.thumb.jpeg.20c61cc65e1f84f8c7944cf83cc49650.jpeg87F26CEE-3E6E-4E8F-B7A4-62EF38C0A748.thumb.jpeg.1e63a7dba1e79d60eeee505827ca4e40.jpeg

  3. pictured this Orion Nebula last night, sadly i’m not able to use the different filters i have as my rpi4 isn’t compatible with the EFK2. First half decent image since owning the setup. Think their maybe a tracking issue from the little squiggles on the image. Any pointers on stacking and processing etc would be much appreciated.

You are better off asking in the main forum Miky, instead of doing it via your status....

    3. Christopher Davenport

      Good experience with them here..

  20. Decided on the 250pds instead of the 300pds, that way im hoping i can get more gear on the neq6 pro

  21. When I've got the NEQ6 Pro on its pier and polar aligned is there away to use it so i don't have to use the 3 star align every time?

    2. Christopher Davenport

      Christopher Davenport

EQmod allows you to save your alignment points and it helps with Polar align

      RobH

Once you're aligned, that's it. If you're on a pier, then just fire up, connect to your planetarium program, goto a star, centre, sync, and you're done. simples :-)

  22. Tried to find m51 tonight using my Celestine 5se, used the go-to but no luck. Everything else was found easy Jupiter, Polaris etc so I'm guessing there's too much light pollution to see it with a 5" scope??

      Marki

I really struggled with most deep sky objects last night (and couldn't spot m51 at all) - lots of haze, high cloud and scattered moonlight in addition to the general light pollution. Then it clouded over :).

    3. Mikyg

      Mikyg

I'm getting the SW 300pds will that make a huge difference or will I still struggle because of LP?

    4. jabeoo1

      jabeoo1

I could see hardly a thing last night for L.P, except the moon and planets & the brightest stars. Thats was with a 10 inch dob.

  23. is there a place on the forum that people put scopes for sale or is that against forum rules?

      Mikyg

Oh ok thanks, good idea really so u don't get someone coming in off Google and taking the deals lol

    3. ronin

      ronin

If I remember correct you need 50 to see it so that you can buy from it, but to put up a for sale you need 250 posts. So 50 to see and buy, 250 to see and sell.

    4. Mikyg

      Mikyg

Ok thanks, I'm looking for a new ota that's all but not got the cash yet. I just hadon't seen any sale area's so was just curious if there was any

  24. just tried getting some shots of Jupiter with my 650d and 2 X Barlow and celestial 5se. not feeling it with this scope and hope I get the kind of shots I want with the neq6 and 300pds

Your 5SE is likely OK for Jupiter, a webcam is the normal way of imaging planets. "Normal" would be 5SE, barlow and webcam connected to laptop. Align, locate and track Jupiter, take a 60 second movie and load the movie (.avi file) into Registax. Process by stacking say the best 10% of the images.

    3. Mikyg

Thanks guys, just a little frustrating but calmed down now. Lol

if the 650D has a movie mode then you can use that to very good effect a small amount of googling will show you the results you might get

  25. After only 1 day i'm glad i joined the forums, so many helpful people here.
