    Ascom finds port after three days of torture, Stellarium, PHD, and Nina finally working together. Wife not interested so just a solo victory dance. Maybe I'll take my first astro-photo yet!

      I'm on a similar journey and have used the odd cloudy day (all of May) to hopefully get things communicating but yet to actually connect up to the mount

      Connecting to the mount was my biggest challenge. I strated out trying to connect from my laptop via gpusb to the hand controller but I could not get the drivers to work properly so no com port was assigned. I switched to an rs232 to USB with a rs232 to rj11 connector (used to update firmware on synscan handset) to the handset and found a driver that worked. I need to have the cable plugged in before I start the laptop. I hope you don't have the trouble I had trying to connect to your mount.

    Do you happen to have any good advice on how to make the Losmandy clamps fit a dovetail clamp without taking a band saw to them or spending a fortune on an adapter?
