Hi All.
So I have FINALLY gotten my asiair to talk to my mount but can't figure out how to get it to do the plate solve polar alignment. I have it enabled in the experiment features tab but not sure how to actually start it. Where should I be looking?
Thanks.

Thanks everyone. considering i have an orion 50mm guidescope (which is pretty much all i'd use the evostar for, i think i'll stick with my original plans of the eq-6r and use the savings to go towards an asiair.

Well after months of research I had just signed on to the telescope shops website all ready to order an EQ-6R. But then skywatcher had to go and offer a free evostar 72 with every AZEQ-6 purchased. Is there much difference between the two mounts other than the ability use in AZ mode? is it worth spending the extra $400?

for CCD matching this site is handy
https://astronomy.tools/calculators/ccd_suitability
example shown for your ED120 and the 1600mm
remember to set any reducer or barlow you are using
(ED120 and 1600mm are a good match)
That's an awesome tool

Hi All,
I currently have an ED120 and C8 with a ZWO ASI120MC.
Looking at doing a bit of an upgrade and was thinking an ASI224MC for planetary and a 1600MM for DSO while keeping the 120mc for guiding.
Are these good matches to each telescope?

The EQ6-R is the much better option, if you can find one. Are the astronomy shelves in Oz as bare as they are in the UK right now?
Yep

Hey everyone.
I had a celestron AVX mount which never worked properly and has now stopped completely. Was planning on replacing it with either a HEQ5 or a EQ6-R
I have a saxon Ed120 and a celestron C8 along with a orion 50mm guide scope, cameras and filter wheel.
Would the HEQ5 be able to handle this or should i go with the EQ6?
