  1. Hi Sara, I think we need to invent some new superlatives. You've produced some amazing imagery - this is (in the very best sense) something else. And I like the colours. This region of the sky is a favourite target for many, and there are lots of good images of it out there - but this is like looking at the scene for the very first time. Amazing. Nigel
  2. It's a nice thought, but my two dogs are banned from the observatory. Problem is, they're greyhounds, heads often at eyepiece/camera height, of little brain, and prone to bumping into telescopes in the middle of 15 minute subs...

  7. I'm not sure this really counts as a true Supplier Review, since David Hinds are the UK distributor for Celestron and supply the dealers rather than selling directly to the public. But I hope it's appropriate to post anyway. My C11 experienced some unwanted rodent-based attention in the observatory during a period of down-time. The original posting is here... https://stargazerslounge.com/topic/304331-wanted-standard-focus-knob-for-celestron-c11/ So on Philip R's suggestion, I contacted Celestron via their central support page. They referred me to David Hinds as the UK support centre. 48 hours later, and I have a brand new replacement rubber focus knob cover on my desk, and no charge - not even postage - along with some advice to install mouse traps, which I've already implemented... Impressive and gives me some confidence that if I ever needed support for more fundamental issues, there would be a way forward. So thank you D.H., and to Philip R for the suggestion. Nigel
  8. Here's my dual setup; C11 atop a TOA-150 on a Mesu-200. It's not pretty, though it does work and is more stable than the side-by-side configuration I tried originally. Problem is, it's so un-pretty that I'm considering returning to a single scope setup. Excuse the messy observatory. Nigel PS This was taken with a wide angle lens - the Tak isn't really bending under the strain...
  9. Whoa - that's.... quite a habit you've got there! It's OK, you're among friends; you don't need to justify... Seriously, that's a nice collection. I love the appearance of the Renaissance - in terms of general optical quality, how does it perform compared to some of the others? Does the view "through" live up to the view "of"? Here's my contribution - not shown is the Vixen 60 mm achromat which is currently a dust magnet but might get a second lease of life as an H_alpha scope eventually. Nigel
