  1. Thanks, John. I am happy I ended up with this after input from you and others in another thread as I would have been very sad to lose the Tak green from the OTA. I think this strikes a nice balance and I am also very happy with the Baader clamp. Every scope should have one ?
  2. I've been away for a few days and this lot were waiting for me when I got home
  3. After taking sound advice from trusted members on both side of the house I decided to go for a compromise in upgrading the focuser on my FC-100DF so have now installed a Baader ClickLock clamp to the end of the focus tube and a FeatherTouch Micro-Pinion... I'm very happy with this as it retains the iconic green focuser body but also feeds my obsession to rid the world of knurled screw fittings and to have the fine focus ability provided by the FeatherTouch dual-speed pinion
  4. It's actually not that big Here it is next to its 20mm 100º cousin and a TV32mm Plossl...
  5. Looks great! I had one of these a couple of years ago and it was excellent
  6. Here is my current crop of Fracs, pictured together for the first and last time ? The ED120 and at least one but probably two more will follow to help fund the big guy at the top. The Evo 150 is quaking in its boots ?
  7. I'm actually trying to make all of this self-funding but the balance sheet is showing some strain at the moment so I'll have to have a chat with the Sales department to see if we can shift some more bits and pieces to match the expenditure ?
  8. These arrived today from Germany... Very please with this
  9. Phew! I hadn't figured a new Ercole into my financial plan so pleased to hear I don't need to
  10. Very nice, John. "Ercole II", not just "Ercole"? Have I missed something?
  11. Sounds like the Astro equivalent of Trigger’s broom congrats on the upgrades ?
  12. I'm just about to go out and have a peek at the Sun and now I'll have MC Hammer in my head
  13. Well the Postman didn't bring it, but I collected this beauty from @jabeoo1 today in Bristol Takahashi FC100-DF (Parallax rings courtesy of Ian King & a Postman)
  14. It's going to be difficult to give a direct answer on this as I only have one brand of each focal length. I will certainly report back on what I find, but at the moment I'm thinking £166 for the 5mm Myriad (4.7mm apparently) looks better than 240 Euro for the Lunt equivalent
  15. This is the Lunt 9mm and APM 13mm & 20mm... This is the OVL Myriad 3.5mm
  16. I have recently bought various focal lengths of these eyepieces branded Lunt, APM and Myriad. Are they all optically identical, or is this a design that allows various brands to select varying quality of optics to go into the same sexy package?
  17. Me too, Dave. I am expecting a similarly solid construction, just quite a bit longer and heavier
  18. This morning I received one of these from the Postman... But this afternoon I received this... How exciting!
  19. I tested this set-up last night with a TV15mm and the focus point was bang in the middle of the focuser travel
  20. The scope tube length is normal, John. I think the FT set-up is slightly longer than the Moonlite but the draw tube on my FT is shorter so I might need an extension tube for some EPs. I’ll post some vital stats when I get home on Friday.
