  1. From an outstanding Jupiter session last night to re skimming a wall tonight... Oh the highs and lows!

  2. Looks like a morning for solar... and hopefully an afternoon of cracking solar photo's from our imaging collective!  Hope it's clear for you!

  3. This FLO sale is killing me in more ways than one... my EP collection (price) is about as stable as the Chinese stock market, and the only solution I can think of is quantitative easing... maybe time to use my alternate delivery address..

  4. 4 hour session, first one in 10 weeks, im all dewed up but the little evo90 in the cotswolds has done me proud tonight.... happy camper!

  5. A lunt dispatch notification... hens teeth i've been waiting for that! Might just catch that monster spot yet!

  6. ah there you are jacques.... jumps right out at you when you look in the right place... a correctly orientated star chart helps no end!

  7. Anybody else see a small black orb pass in front of Jupiter arond 23:35.. satellite maybe..?

  8. Anyone else having trouble with Astro panel on droid, not downloading or updating info?

I had problems with the forecast never being right so stopped using it over a year ago.theres a thread on hereabout astropanel somewhere so you could try posting on that :)

Haha thanks for that.. You use anything now...?

  9. As stated the Evostar 90 was delivered, all be it for a birthday as opposed to christmas, to my brother and his little lad yesterday.. Much merryment was had and a few quick looks at the moon which sealed the deal, they are hooked. Everyone (or so i thought) was delighted, on the way home in the car, personally full of stidsfaction from a selfless act i got the "don't think i don't know what your doing... whens the new scope turning up?" I mean now.... really... would i.... Me..

Aw . . . that's such a sweet thing to do. BUT, I suspect that you've been rumbled!

Come clean: Are you expecting one??

I'm joining the 4" frac club, probably a Tal.. but considering the TS102 F11.. Away in a few weeks to so will be ordering for delivery on my return..

I didn't think i'd been that obvious! Ha well, like she said... she worries more when i'm quiet about my astro stuff.

  10. AZ4.... I'm impressed....

Cracking mount. I use my AZ4 more than my CG5-GT.

Shame it doesn't take the same load! Would be great to put my 200p on it!

  11. batteries for the rigel q dead... schoolboy error!

  12. Bit of a school boy error... Told the "bank manager" it was just the one ES82 i'd ordered... she wants to know why there are two boxes, and she's not buying the "ones for the lenses and one for the barrel, as you have to assemble them yourself" line! Oooooops my bad.

      Half price sale?

    2. ronin

      ronin

So you have tried to sneak in 2 when you said 1, and have now insulted the bank managers intelligence. Best analysis: You're dead. :-)

It's cost me a meal out on Friday.... I'm assuming I'm paying... Should have ordered 3 ;-)

  13. Brought the scope into work for a white light lunch, with the promis of clear skys... complete about turn by met office and COS... Still looks to be clear tonight now instead!

  14. Chores got in the way of my first light with the wedge and starwave.. maybe tomorrow if I'm lucky!

  15. Clear dark skys, uncountable amount of stars, mikyway as clear as i've seen it in a long time, and it was warm too... Just such a shame i was stuck in the cinima watching gravity... finally paid my dues for ordering 2 Es82 instead of one.. im sure the weather report was checked before it was booked too.... why i oughta!!!

You knew you were in trouble when you ordered 2. Sounds like OH knows how to get revenge. Hope the additional eyepiece works well, it would be the final irony if it wasn't as good as expected. Get them one at a time, it saves a lot of hassle.

To be honest the 11mm ES82 is a fantastic EP and the 4.7mm wasn't too far behind.. I've had worse punishment in my life than a meal and a film... still felt like i'd been grounded though which im sure shouldn't happen when your 33!

And to be fair.. great film in 3d too.. 4/5 maybe even 4.5...

  16. Crumbs it's getting cold... Enough playtime withe frac, time to put the newt on for an hour or two!

  17. Curse my inquisitive mind... Soooo hershel wedges seem interesting.. (Feeling my feet go from under me, didn't even realise I was stood on the slippery slope!)

  18. Did I see an ISS pass at half6 tonight or am I going crazy... Nothing listed on clear outside but it did look like it... (If not what was it!?)

    1. mondeoman

      mondeoman

Yes it was the iss travelling west to east very high

  19. fairly sure someone's just burnt their toast!

  20. Feel like I've been Michael Fish'd.. Fully clouded over but according to two weather apps it's actually clear! Genuinely a bit gutted... Might look out in a few hours..

  21. First time I've loaded the 200p on to the skytee2.. so far it's at least as good as the eq5, just easier to use.. I'm happy with this set up I think..

    1. nightfisher

      nightfisher

I found this set up had way to much vibration at the eyepiece, hope it works better for you

Im thinking of avoiding it... bit like I do with the green and black stuff (plossl apart)... could be an expensive slippery slope!

i know that feeling lol, if you dont know about it you cant want it lol :) did you manage to get any pics from your 1st white light today, or were you viewing :) its sure fasinating being able to look at a star so close compared to pin pricks of lights from the normal stars in the sky :)

    4. Fozzie

      Fozzie

Just purley viewing at the moment... im not too interested in AP, not when there are so many amazing photos posted on here.. its enough to keep me browsing for hours..

  23. Going to deepest darkest Ullswater in the lakes this weekend and suprise suprise after the clear nights recently it's going to be rubbish... will throw the 80mm in the boot though to be on the safe side!

  24. Got bored so I flocked the inside of the ikle frac... Back to being bored again now.

Thinking about flocking my glasses... The missus is countering the World Cup with big brother... It's just unacceptable.

  25. Got myself told off in mothercare for stating that a cot mattress was the same price as a new tal.... got it down to £150, "same price as a second hand tal".. and I thought astro stuff was expensive... don't ask me about the pram!
