I never knew there was so much dust around the Cocoon!
Neither did I! Amazing what the starless processing enables. I may have introduced a new deep and dusty target.
Thanks

Like many I've been revisiting old data to exploit starless processing.
This is from 2 years ago. The Cocoon rendered for the dust..! May revisit with more data and flats.
40 x 120s lights. RASA 8 and ASI2600 MC. DSS and PS. This is as far as I pushed it, you can see the chess/checkerboard artefacts appearing. I've included an overdone starless version.
Does anyone know what causes this??
Thank you, Paul.

Beautiful @ollypenrice! What is the exposure info? I am keen to redo M45 with my RASA 8/ ASI2600 combo. Thank you. Paul

Has one of your images been removed ?
Yes, this one @davew ! Decided on a small reprocess and to crop out a big distorted Mars.
About a five hour journey. Have been well over a dozen times. It is a middle point for a loose group of astro friends.
I love it! Can be a tad wet, plenty of opportunity for reflections!
Well worth a visit for a combination of day and night activities. Is darker than Yorkshire Dales.
Forgot to mention the Twix, Yorkie and Double Decker consumption

...astro weekend. A mix of images taken between clouds, fog and rain. A light painted Nantgwyllt Church: early evening and a new wood sculpture. Finally the Garreg Ddu dam/reservior (ambient light). All Canon 6D MkII and Sigma 24mm. Combination of Lightroom, Sequator and Photoshop.
Cheers, Paul. (much better when clicked...)

I do like the new NGC891 and cluster pic.
I am still experimenting with Star/NoiseXterminator combo. Usually duplicate the star layer (colour dodge blend) to get a greater star presence and haven't got the noise reduction balance sorted yet. Sometimes its just too smooth...
...starless processing is a revolution, especially with the RASA 8!
Cheers, Paul.

An observatory, of any kind, is a game changer.
Had my RoR observatory for 2 years now. Still very, very pleased. Paul.

Nice composition.
Am finding streams/gills/becks are getting a tad too challenging nowadays, especially solo.

The only problem with these is that they don't feature me and my partner
Both excellent images. They must be special to you.

Hope I get to experience similar one day
Cheers, Paul
P.S. I presume the individual pano frames were in portrait mode?

I particularly like the lack of human light pollution in this scene! Well balanced ambient foreground

About 23.15 Sunday evening from Swaledale, N. Yorkshire. Obvious coloured beams as I turned off the car lights. had eased off by the time I got the camera set up...
...processed for impact. The colour was very pale. Paul. P.S. I see the video can be downloaded....

The Nikon Z6 does well with ambient foregrounds, in the right hands. My Canon has an iso-variant sensor and is one of the reasons for the light painting I'm doing.
Hope you get more opportunities this season!

@davew thank you Dave. Appreciated.
Light on 100% with longer exposure and higher iso than usual. An approach track on a down slope. Helped reduce converging verticals
Its such a great structure that I wanted it to be the BIG feature in the image.
Cheers, Paul.

...in remote Weardale last Saturday.
Weather forecast was good for ~4 hours so made the effort to get away from my local patch. This is the result of the only clear spell (10 mins) at the onset of dark...
...composition was somewhat rushed!
Sky 8 x 10s, f2.5, iso2500, single light painted foreground 13s, f3.5, iso1600. Stacked in Sequator and combined using lighten blend mode in Photoshop.
Cheers, Paul.
P.S. Click...

...two from August 30th. Both using static tripod and Sequator for stacking sky exposures blended with light painted foreground exposures in Photoshop.
Pendragon Castle, bit of an ordeal as there is a big ditch/moat to navigate. The rock beds on the River Swale...composition hasn't really worked however it was fantastic in the middle of the flowing water under the stars Paul PS Canon 6D MkII, Sigma 24mm. Clicks for optimum viewing.

Another lovely photo Paul.
I would have messed that up, if I'd done it, by light painting from either side of the chimney. I think you've shown the benefit of only doing one side and really bringing out the shape.
Dave.
Thank you Dave! I like the rather surreal feel on this one.

Wain Wath Force, Swaledale. A tad chilly. An awesome experience!
8 x 10s, iso2500, f2.5 sky
5 x 10s, iso 800, f4 foreground (light painted, ambient stack is soo flat).
Canon 6D MkII, Sigma 24mm. LR, Sequator and PS.
Still faffing with colours across different devices. Click time.
Cheers Paul.
