Thank you @davew @FenlandPaul @AstroNebulee
Not the best images, but was happy to get something. Particularly pleased with the wreck posted earlier.
We are going back next autumn Paul

Arrived on the Applecross Peninsula to bad weather forecast for the week, however a gap appeared for 15 mins on the arrival evening. Milky Way with rock outcrop 8 x 8s, iso3200, f2 for sky. Two light painted rocks. Canon R8, Sigma 24mm. Sequator and PS.
Following morning awoke at 5am to see some more clear. A bit underprepared...boat image similar to above but with ~5 foregrounds. Was too close to main subject, 20ft drop immediately behind camera position. Need to try using hyperfocal distance focusing.
Cheers, Paul.

All of the above!
What we need is the opportunities to play out!!
Was in a stupendous area north of Ullapool 2 - 3 weeks back with the aim of getting some big ambient light landscape foregrounds. Could barely stand up in the winds and rain.
Hoping the season becomes more productive.
Cheers, Paul.

Great! The amount of desirable light is definitely a personal taste, mine keeps changing.
It gives greater interest, depth and context to the image.
Another trick in the toolbox!
Cheers, Paul.

@davew thank you. It is a fabulous 'wreck'!
@FenlandPaul cheers, will post a couple of other scraps in due course.
@AstroNebulee thank you, there is a hint of auroral/airglow that helps.

Lovely field of view!
I'm a fan of good composition in deep sky images.

Aurora, of course! From North Yorkshire on Sep 12/13th. Punchard Toll House, Arkengarthdale. An 'entrepreneur' illegally charged for passage of coal mined up near the Tan Hill Inn in the 1800s.
Two stills, a short time laspe x2, and a final still image. Lightroom, Photoshop, Pictures2Exe and VSDC video editor. Canon R8 and Sigma 24mm. Cheers, Paul,

What a haul!
I like The Cove in particular.
Clear nights a bit thin on the ground ATM...

Quite spectacular ! I imagine that looked pretty good to the eyes too ?
Yes, the ray/beam movement and pale green/red colours were readily visible
Hopefully more to come! Paul.

Nice image!
I cycled past there (and you?) about 8 ish this morning!
There are some quieter and darker spots to pull in around the area
Cheers, Paul.

@FenlandPaul the MSM is a compromise between weight/stability/accuracy. I don't intend to go longer than 120s at 50mm on a full frame. Very portable and the laser alignment is really easy (northern hemisphere) once you've collimated it.
I use an Alyn Wallace Z mount as a wedge. Usually adjusting tripod legs as its tightened right up! Paul.

You will need to check how to get to these locations during the day! Above cloud inversion.
Almost directly up the volcano from Puntagorda.

All shots fuelled by Fry's Chocolate Cream bars which as we all know is Rich Dark Chocolate with a smooth Fondant Centre
I've been frugal with the chocolate of late
Good to see you out!
Definitely making the best of the human presence. I prefer the first image.
Nice work! Paul
