  1. That's very good for a first attempt. Your black point looks a bit clipped but then it could just be how it looks on my phone
  2. I never check the bubbles to see if they are level. If I'm on uneven ground I roughly get it level by eye and never had an issue. But then I usually only shoot 1 min subs and loose basically none of them.
  3. This was taken from a "darker" site 10 miles out of town which will have helped
  4. No, my camera is not modded. Been thinking about it but to get my 6d modded it'll cost around £200. Not sure it'll be worth it since it has good HA response as it is.
  5. It's been on my list for a while but never got round to it
  6. Yeas it is. I was torn between getting this in the frame or M78.
  7. Here's a quick 1 hour image I took last night after work with my canon 6d and Samyang 135mm. 60 second subs
  8. I use the one I bought for my WO star71, works just fine.
  9. Do you have a bahtinov mask? They're great for finding perfect focus. Out on the middle of nowhere after I finished work.
  10. They are both excellent pieces of software. You can't go wrong with either. If you think you might purchase a dedicated Astro camera at some point in the future I'd recommend apt as BackyardEOS is only for dslr whereas apt can do both.
  11. Even though it's out of focus it looks like you've got good polar alignment. Nice round stars is what we all aim for. Well done
  12. You can but I'd suggest checking polar alignment afterwards aswell just to be on the safe side and to be sure.
  13. Our lovely post woman just woke me up by banging on my door. It was worth it
  14. Here's one from last night. 39x 60 second subs unguided with about a 60% Moon. I forgot to take some short exposures for the core as it was so cold last night. Unmodded Canon 600d and samyang 135mm lens shot at f2. Stars are slightly off due to wind.
  15. I'd say it all depends on what your planning on doing. If your planning to guide then a tablet. If your planning on just using it as standard with a DSLR and lens then I'd say intervalometer
  16. Is this true? So if the polarfinder app has Polaris at the very bottom, I need to put Polaris at the very top of the circle in the polar scope?
  17. Scope pointing towards M81. Dslr pointing towards M31.
  18. My new Manfrotto 055xpro3 finally arrived yesterday after 2 weeks of waiting due to a glitch in the matrix meaning my order was stuck in digital limbo. All was sorted very quickly once I enquired about it. Had a quick test run with it last night and it's ALOT sturdier than my old tripod even when raised. Thanks to all those who advised me together one.
  19. You sold your canon 6d for only €400? Maybe I need to search the Serbian 2nd hand market for one. They go for more than double that here.
  20. Would this tripod be stable enough for a star adventurer, 600d and samyang 135mm lens? I'm busy trying to find a decent, stable tripod for around the £100ish mark
  21. Unmodded canon 600d, Iso400, 25 x 30s subs with no calibration frames under relatively dark skies.
  22. A quick orion taken with my 75-300 lens on a canon 600D after work
  23. Would this adapter take 36mm unmounted filters?
