Hi Guys
Not posted things on here for some time due to work commitments, and frankly, I can't be a*rsed to get up at silly o'clock! 🙃
So, this particular day I drove back from holidaying in lovely Devon and the sky looked ok when I got back. I saw Saturn coming up so opened the obsy and put the fan on on the big Mak. After a few hours of fiddling around I slewed to Jupiter and got the following result. Conditions were stable, but there was some localised high cloud around which frankly, played havoc with the captures. Transparency was quite milky too. Anyway, - here it is!

Wowsers! That's incredible detail - that Zen Mak is giving superb results 🙂
Cheers Grant, appreciated. The optics are really coming into their own on Mars

That's excellent Barv. And yet another cracking image taken well outside of the conventional wisdom of 5 x pixel size .. you're approx 9 x but an excellent result.
Thanks Knobby. Mars seems to fair better with pushing the focal length over other subjects

Very Nice Stuart. - Doesn't look bad for a rushed focus!
All the best

Hi Guys
I actually went out to check collimation after needing to strip down my scope due to an issue with the inbuilt focuser. This was done for the first couple of hours of being out, so I pointed to Mars afterwards. Things looked that bad on the live view, and focusing was extremely difficult, despite the high altitude of Mars at the time. I was frankly amazed that once I started processing the data, a wealth of detail was present. Here is the result
Thanks for looking

Both look lovely Kon, personally, I prefer the larger image scale

Thanks Geof. Of course it can't be done easily on Jupiter as the screens not big enough!

Hi Guys
Here's a shot of Mars taken under reasonable seeing compared with the norm on this apparition. I'm finding it best to image at a longer FL if seeing plays ball. This was imaged at around F26 with the 462MC, which of course is way oversampled. I'm preferring this image scale though
Best Wishes

2-2022-10-30-2204_7.bmpHi Guys
I was pleased to get this level of detail on the night of the 30th October. Seeing could only be described as fair, but transparency was the usual 'mushy' that I seem to get here. Clearly the quality of the Maks optics are starting to show through. Better windows to come hopefully
Cheers
