  1. What is OSC? What would you recommend? Monochrome or OSC? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Here is a fix to the link I posted in my first post: http://www.telescope.com/Astrophotography/Astrophotography-Cameras/Orion-StarShoot-G3-Deep-Space-Color-Imaging-Camera/pc/-1/c/4/sc/58/p/101351.uts Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Hey guys. What is a good CCD camera for a beginner? I have been looking at one from Orion, which I provided the link for below: http://www.telescope.com/Product/Astrophotography/Astrophotography-Cameras/Orion-StarShoot-G3-Deep-Space-Color-Imaging-Camera/pc/4/c/58/101351.uts Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Thanks Olly! I'm gonna be getting a refractor that has no more than a 600mm focal length for AP. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Yup, I root for the Marlins! Thanks for all the warm welcomes, everyone! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. If I am buying a refractor tube for AP, do I need a diagonal, or do I just put the CCD camera directly into the telescope?
  7. Here is a link to a great article about mounts for AP: http://www.astropix.com/HTML/I_ASTROP/MOUNTS.HTM Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. @frugal: I'm wondering the same thing. That'll make my quest A LOT easier... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Hello everyone! My name is Joey and I'm a new member to the Lounge. I'm from Miami, FL. I have loved astronomy from the first time I saw what the sky looks like when you are far from city lights(something you don't experience much when you live in Miami). I haven't really had a chance to do much observing, but after joining an amateur club I realized that what I really wanted to do was Astrophotography. I'm in the process of saving money to get the equipment needed for AP, so feel free to look at my profile to see my forum topics to offer your advice on equipment which will be much appreciated. Also, feel welcome to add me as a friend. I look forward to it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. The 80mm may get bigger in the future, but it will be a number of years away. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. I saw some mounts from iOptron mounts that are in the $400 range. I was looking at an AP bundle by Orion that comes with the Orion SkyView Pro, which is $849. But if I can get a mount of comparable quality with al or most of the same features for less, I'll definitely do that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Hey guys. I was wondering if I could get a recommendation on a good GoTo mount for an AP beginner. I've seen some good ones from Orion, iOptron and SkyWatcher, but wanna get as much bang for my buck as I can. I'm willing to spend some money but don't want to break my bank, but also want go get something that will last. I'm planning on getting an 80mm refractor to put on it. 13. Thanks for replying so quick, guys! @baggywrinkle: The mount that comes with it is the mount in the second link I sent. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Hey guys. I want to start doing Astrophotography and found this bundle at Orion. Was wondering if you guys could give me your opinion on it. The mount is my biggest concern. Here are the links: Bundle: http://www.telescope.com/mobile/catalog/product.cmd?productId=27156 Mount: http://www.telescope.com/mobile/catalog/product.cmd?productId=24709 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
