  1. Yep thats correct i understood that. Also question, if i am correct when you take your V.images and Your H.images the only what differents during the whole session tunning the mount is the i.image
  2. works partly the windows with the images i modified that with succes. but te before and after value didn't work (print inst) i had the idea like Find Polaris Value = Right 00:04:01 UP 00:00:05 Improved Polaris Value = Right 00:00:08 UP 00:00:20 Because the iterations are only based on the horizontal images I understand you qoute "The picture serves as a visual check, by the way. You are supposed to check that there's stars (and the right stars!) in the centre of the circles."
  3. Hoi themos I like to have option that the popup with the picture is disabled after clicking "Find Polar Axis" or "show improvement" but the calculation is still done i think the change of values are the most inportant of you program. Although the pictures makes the program complete and visable what is going on. Any posibility in the settings screen for this? and if possible the before and after values, i lke to have in the screen ;-) Sorry Iam a newbie in python i am not yet able to do it my self. Chris
  4. question The distannce to the NCP differents year by year, Even the polemaster is not corrected on this i understood new update of the software must correct this. How is this corrected in this program and is it in 5 a 10 years still correct. Can some explain how this is working Chris
  5. For me works this the best Important is by all this setting what is your field of view FoV. I have Newton 25cm F4 1000mm conform spec howeverafter solved the images it was actualy 1131mm becauso of the corrector i use and important is to know your Cammera specs also Camera gegevens 40d Chip size : 14.8mm x 22.2mm Pixel Size: 5.7 x 5.7 Array Size: 3888x2592 5D Mark II Chip Size : 35.8 x 23.9 mm Pixel Size: 6.4 x 6.4 Array Size: 5616x3744 Via the following link you can calculate the FoV http://www.skyatnightmagazine.com/field-view-calculator For me means with the above specs a FoV of 1.12° x 0.75° ist degrees with some torranace you can fil in the Low and Hig Scale [operations] restrict scale = 0 [local] shell = C:\cygwin\bin\bash.exe --login -c "%s" downscale = 0 configfile = /etc/astrometry/backend.cfg scale_units = degwidth This means what your values mean in scale low and hi scale_low = 0.4 scale_hi = 1.71 xtra = --sigma 70 --no-plots -N none -r --objs 100 Downscale setting doesnot work for me by local solving so i set this on zero in the ini file By the way the index files you use can be found on cygwin C:\cygwin\usr\share\astrometry\data I have 4107 => 4119 and the whole 4207 series Top explianation can be found at http://www.lightvortexastronomy.com/tutorial-setting-up-and-using-astrotortilla-for-plate-solving.html hoop it helps, I am very happy with the program I use for Capturing APT 3.11, requested at ivo if he can create grid view zo this helps with precies movement of the stars when working on the L/R or UP/DOWN http://www.ideiki.com/astro/ this program use also All Sky Plate Solver.
  6. I Mailed support two timeno reaction yet. Secondly Mij local resolving is working based on the setting i added also the tycho Lib in astrotortilla --sigma 70 --no-plots -N none -H 1.71 -L 0.38 -r --objs 100 and yes i put the same scales in the slider ;-) I have this from the the Astrotortilla Blog I am very happy iam not depended on nova anymore I think even the of polaris and then NCP is not needed where can i disable that I prefare to work with the values? I am still looking for kind of Grid overlay which helps to make the steps. I use live view to see how the polaris is moving and than shoot a inmage and solve Thanks for your help By the way i put PHDLAP in the Python directory now its working ;-)
  7. Hoi i was very happy on the 8 of may, during the first try i am was able to reache from 13 arcmin to 0.38 how ever i wanted to repeat the captured images next days but its was not possibile to resolve via NOVA the program was trying trying etc . also uploading on nova failed even the test v.jpg etc. I reported this to NOVA support but no feedback yet. Also local solve didn't work how to get this work i get the following errors. Please can some help me with this two issues
  8. Solved I placed The PHDLab files in the Pyhton dir and it works zo it has to do that PHDLap didn't find Python
  9. I have issue after installing PhotoPolarAlign, Which working correct that my PHDLab last version is not working any more. It popups the Screen menus can be selected but thats al. DOes this sound familiar. And how to solve this with out breaking the PhotoPolarAlign. Chris
