  1. the outlets are at the back of the mobo and i'm using positive pressure to force the air out the back and upwards away from the print area
  2. bask in the total wonderfulness of the duet wifi dunno if this is of any interest but i'm just finishing off a duet wifi/mosfet modular box linked together with 14.5mm non-split flexible conduit for cable routing. you can have the file if you want it
  3. Not astro related, but when your nerdy hobbies means that no-one has a damn clue what to buy you, you end up buying your own prezzies
  4. this is how quiet... tablet was 10 inches away
  5. aaaaaannnnnddddd... i have printing Dave, you're gonna love this board. it's whisper quiet...
  6. finally got x, y and z homing working... oh my (insert non-existent deity of choice) this is quiet compared to the other board...
  7. it'll give you a chance to do a bit of reading... this thing is definitely not plug-and-play kit
  8. my duet wifi arrived yesterday... still fitting connectors lol curse having to go to work. tis a bit disconcerting using putty as a terminal to send gcode to activate the webserver, but to say the interface is comprehensive is somewhat of an understatement. now, back to soldering
  9. have you tried the neodymium magnets out of an old harddrive?
  10. should be a lot more future-proof than the atmega range (which to be honest is getting very long in the tooth now being only 8 bit) better drivers, better interface, better firmware etc etc etc...
  11. well, i just pulled the trigger on one so it should be here in a day or 2... and now to play with the big boys
  12. hope we get a review of this... my extruder driver just turned it's toes up and of course being a cheapo chinese affair, the whole mobo is now useless :/
  13. If you're using 3 lead screws for the bed then surely autolevelling won't be an issue once it's all set up. can't speak for the coreXY design, but since i rebuilt my A8 using 2040, i've been using 15mm spacers between the bed and h-plate and haven't had to relevel the bed for going on 6 weeks now.
  14. must be some weight to the print bed for it to do that... :|
  15. did you get chance to upload those files at all?
  16. good one... i took a slightly different approach... i've got 3 8mm grubscrews at 120 degrees in each bracket. just need to find some 1mmx10mm wide spring steel to make compression rings for the grubscrews to act on. attaches directly to my tube (when i can be bothered drilling it). the camera end has practically no movement and the front allows 1, maybe 2 degrees of adjustment. can't see me needing any more than that.
  17. nice one where from? google has a thingiverse link but it gives a 404 error
  18. are the files available or is this a private project?
  19. awesome what size printer hotbed is needed? dould 220x220 be big enough?
  20. Looking very good there Dave... Are you using the eccentric bolts on the wheels to remove any slop btw? if so, how are the printed parts holding up? I've decided on this one https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2254103 HyperCube Evolution... it's gonna be a biggie lol. Just got to find a source for 30x30mm extrusion as ooznest don't seem to supply it :/ I've just switched to PET-G and started printing the parts for the hypercube. Going to be a 'from scratch' build as i plan on using a Duet3D controller... bit of a step up from 8bit to 32bit Had a real laugh (not) when i switched to PET-G... thought i'd get some nice translucent red by real filament... i think they mix some sort of molecular welding glue in with the filament as the first print pulled a lump of glass out of my glass bed, and the second print pulled the surface of my buildtak It also strings like crazy regardless of which settings i use and actually comes out more carrot colour than red. Avod Real Filament if you can Anyway, i ditched anything from Real Filament and went with my usual brand by Prima... their PrimaSelect PET-G prints wonderfully and pops off the glass just like their PLA. Luckily, i just got a bonus at work so as soon as i source the 30x30 extrusion, i'll be decimating my bonus lol
  21. watched this seriesof vids last night... i'm soooo tempted to do one https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1752766
  22. wish i could afford that sort of gear... no buyers for my spare internal organs so far lol
