  1. I've just realised that's hardly any information but what I meant to say was it was a hazy object in the right vicinity but looked round and didn't have a tail.
  2. We saw a hazy object from our 200p but no significant tail. Were we looking at the right thing?
  3. Have no idea why it took me so long to find. Took a dodgy image on my phone, but it was just incredible, easily the best thing Ive seen so far. Going back out in about an hour, are there any easy galaxies to look for?
  4. Has anyone seen a brilliant post on here about entering all your telescope and eyepiece specs into Stellarium? I read it and set it all up on my old computer, but can't find the post to do it on my new computer. TIA
  5. Hi,yes it is the scope in the pic. What do you mean by adapters? We've been using it for a while now and it's been fine. This just happened all of a sudden.
  6. Got telescope out right now to see Saturn but can only see the reflection of the telescope through the eyepiece (cross with hole in the middle). Whats wrong?
  7. Will we be able to see anything of the lunar eclipse in the UK?
  8. Hi, can anyone recommend easy galaxies to find? I haven't seen one yet. Really interested in finding M81 and M82 and the clown/eskimo one too. Someone once posted a spreadsheet type link that you could sort to see which objects were easy to find, but I've lost it, so if anyone has that bookmarked, I'd appreciate the link. Thanks all.
  9. I'm taking througthe telescope out in the next hour, what is there to see? I've only seen the moon, Jupiter and the Orion Nebula so far. I'd love to see a galaxy but no luck so far.
  10. Thank you, I'll try again when we have another clear night. I have an 8 inch Dob and 25mm and 10mm eyepieces. No binoculars though.
  11. I've been trying to find it for weeks now, but just haven't been successful. Is it very difficult to find? That said, I've only really looked at the moon and the Orion Nebula so far, as I'm slowly getting used to the nights sky really. Is there anything else that's easy to find that you can recommend to look at?
  12. The only thing I've done so far is taken pictures with my smart phone!
  13. We have our camera connected to the telescope and that's it so far. We don't know much else, including software, layering etc. does anyone know if there are any posts to talk us through the basics anywhere?
