  1. So I have a skywatcher 8" on an eq5 mount. A home built RA tracker this works like a treat absolutely no tweaks to position during observations. Visual observations are good so I'm happy the optics are fine, collimation etc always checked on each viewing..... My issue is with IMGOH this is generally mounted on X2 barlow (but have tried with-out) I just don't get very good planetary images (not expcecting spectacular) but they are pretty underwhelming. Not sure if it's just the IMGOH is not really up to the job or perhaps the supplied software is not so good - is there an alternative? By comparison must say moon images using this CCD are excellent. So is it me, the CCD or software or what - Anyone out here have experience using this and any tips etc would be most welcome. BTW I am using registax this doesn't improve the images by any stretch...
  2. Yeh I know its a long shot, but there are numerous tech heads that copy this sort of stuff for any eventual failures.
  3. Hi, Wonder if anyone has the programming code for the microcontroller P87C51 used in the EQ5 Dual Axis Motor Drive handset? Thanks
  4. Thanks, but I have now ordered one of Ebay , so see how that goes. Cheers
  5. I actually wired mine direct to my power pack rather than relying on the 9V battery, my power lead is 5metres. The power outlet I am using is 5V rated at 1.5A and currently using the supplied curly cable all works well - though as expected the focusser moves a lot slower due to the diminished supply voltage. So as long as you are using something like 19/0.2 cable, there should not be any detrimental voltage drop.
  6. Hi, So I recently upgraded to my Skywatcher 200P EQ5 with the auto focusser. My question is the curly cable supplied to my mind is too short, I would have preferred something say 3 - 5 metres. Assuming the plugs were RJ11 I purchased on Ebay a 5m RJ11 to RJ11 cable, however it turns out the RJ 11 is too large. Having looked into this a bit further it's possible the connector is something like an RJ9, 12 or 22, it seems there are many variations. Does anyone know what the connectors actually are?
