I have always thought slight de focus was a good idea, but this proves the point that good focus is a must. Just achieved 0.40” tonight. I got the idea of putting an I.R. filter on from my experience of photographing the moon. I could never get crisp focus until the nice man at Atik advised using an I.R. filter, so I tried the same thing on the guide camera. I wonder how many people are guiding with mono cameras and no filter.

Added extra power socket to run dew heaters. Now everything is connected to the dec saddle. Good bye wiring spaghetti.

That looks a nice bit of kit. Don't be afraid to experiment with it. It does seem complex at first, but it will slowly become second nature using it. Is this your first computerised equipment.

Don't worry about how much is noise, that s a great picture. Lovely colours.

Gear used for this Jupiter image was, Mount CGEM, Telescope Tak TSA102, Camera Canon EOS40da. 100raw images stacked in registax. I have 600 exposures which l am going to try and generate a short video of the moons shadow travelling across Jupiter's surface.

Cheers for that. I never get tired of imaging the moon. The shadows change every day giving a new view.
