  1. In my humblest of opinions all the differences in optics show up under the best of conditions given that the mentioned optics are all of reasonable quality.
  2. I agree about the sharpness and I have 4 Tak orthos- 2 18's and 2 12.5's but on faint DSO my experience has been that the Delos pulls ahead of my Taks, the 10 BCO bests the Delos by a squeak however. This is most likely just different eyes under different conditions. The 12.5mm Tak barlows endlessly. My 12.5mm Tak LE has zero advantages anywhere to my eyes. That TEC 140 is sure a great scope btw.
  3. A friend of mine is asking if the same applies to the Tak scopes? will they show more than other fracs?
  4. Do you have one of the FSQ's Jeremy? I'm not familiar with them but some day something will be in the stable for imaging when available.
  5. The Op's scope is a perfect match for the entire set of Vixen HR's. These will maximize the view of the planets and allow this scope to perform to its maximum.
  6. I'm just not sure if I'm Richard (Bucket) or Onslow? Im thinkin Onslow...
  7. yup! she just bought me the slip roller too 😀 Just cant beat mutual support IMHO.
  8. Shhhh... 😀 the wife just got home actually she is super supportive and patient with my hobbies.
  9. Thing is deals like this don't happen often... coming from an old deal shopper here...
  10. Yes, enjoy and have fun with this Nicola! I also enjoy the pursuit of nice things- the Tak will punch above its weight...
  11. Thats a great price... Great selection Jeremy, the 13mm Nagler is a special eyepiece IMHO.
  12. Very good point. A 24 Pan, a 13 Nagler and a Nagler zoom would cover most all IMHO.
  13. Yeah I'm after lots... 😀 but-budgets blown- I just bought a plate roller for my little shop- 800 lbs only 200 bucks shipping- cheaper than the scopes shipping...lol! I'm waiting until there is inventory for any astro purchases, and only if prices are reasonable.
  14. I did have a poor mirror diagonal once but even the SW diag I have gives great views, it does have a bit of scatter which does not impact things much really. Good enough to show Barnards Loop no filter in the SW120ED. I'd have no hesitation buying any of the mentioned diags in this thread. I do know that because of my experience with the Zeiss prism diag it would not be my first choice- superb in my APO's but in the Sw120ED it gives false colour. Not sure how it would work in @Nicola Fletcher great Tak though, probably fine. And yes John this banter does keep things going and the money flowing Geez now I want a 76mm Tak...
  15. I think that when we get into this quality of equipment were splitting hairs for differences.
  16. Its really too bad this EP has been discontinued- its the only " orthoscopic" widefield around IMHO. I gotta keep it!
  17. No, you are on the right track. I use the must have 3-6 Nagler zoom a lot in refractors- I think the 2-4mm is still available. I don't like the weight of low power 100 deg EP's in the fracs, just me.
  18. These are excellent but big and with a brutally stupid eyecup and top cap design.
  19. This is great, I see IFN similar to the 3 second mark but not near M81 area unfortunately.Mostly an edge is seen but can be followed.
  20. Minor differences in transparency can make major differences on DSO. Ive had many nights of vg transparency and looking at a faint object only for it to diminish a bit. This has sent me on collimation ventures, checking for fogged up whatever, dew etc etc., thinking scope was faulty.. Thing is its hard to see these small but important differences naked eye on the Milky Way or whatever. Threshold objects will disappear under these differences.
