I like these images and think your judgement on noise reduction was good. It has to be a compromise between fine detail and smoothness but I think I'd have called the balance pretty much where you did.

Thank you. I appreciate your kind words. To me its all a balance between clouds and rain and finally being happy with what you have achieved and moving on.

Thank you MKHACHFE. I take on board what you say as a positive and hopefully manage to balance things out a bit more in future photographs. It does need more intergration time (hopefully next year).

Ghost of Cassiopeia 15 X RGB 90 seconds for stars, 20 x L 120 seconds, 9 x Ha 10 minutes, 8 x S11 x 10 minutes. No O111 as no detail. Sky background may be a little dark though. One with stars and one starless. Atik 460 Mono. Astrodon Gen 2 LRGB and Astrodon 3 Nm Ha and S11. MN190 on CEM120. Bortle 8 skies.

Thank you.

Thank you. I had never seen it before and at first thought it was a processing artifact. Then when we checked the Ha realised it was definitely Nebulous with what appears to be 3 stars embedded in it. Over the moon that I managed to capture it.

Looking great Peter. Nice to see you posting.

MartinB. Thank you. That is much improved. Processing is not my strong point. I agree about the Magenta cast but did not know how to tame it without ruining the whole image.

Managed to get some limited data on this on Monday with an over 80% Moon and Bortle 8 skies. 20 x 3 minute subs Ha, 6 x 10 minute subs in O111 and S11. Darks and bias but no flats as i have misplaced my flats panel. MN190, Atik 460M, Astrodon 3Nm filters. CEM120. If I get a chance to add more data it should improve.

Start of a longer project. Very noisy wall. 5 X 10 minute subs each of Ha, O111 and S11.
Imaging gear
Atik 460 mono, Astrodon 3Nm Nb filters, MN190 with Lakeside Focusr, Deep Sky Dad Rotato on a CEM120. No darks or flats as its just the start of a longer project. Stacked in APP and light tweak in Affinity.

Dont know if this helps but it seems to have some links that "may" be of interest

Hi m tweedy. Thanks. I select the stars and increase the colour early on in the processing before the stretching washes them out.
Carole
Thank you. I will try that. Apologies I Missed the reply

That should help, but not for galaxies of course. When choosing nb filters it’s important to consider quality. Especially Oiii filters can show reflection halos.
Just catching up sitting on my balcony in Madeira about 10 degrees C warmer than home. I agree with what you are saying. I am presently switching out my CLRGB Astronomik to Astrodon Gen E 2nd edition and 3Nm Astrodon Ha, O111 and S11. Hopefully it will give me as good a chance of minimising halos as i can get. I do like running some Ha data on Galaxies as there is normally some in there that enhances the final image (in my eyes).

Thank you.

I used Vicent Peris' red continuum subtraction technique.
I have never heard of this. Is it possible to send some links for me to investigate.

Very nice. Bortle 7/8 is a bit brighter than what I have (Boryle 5).
It is but you have to live what you have. I presently have 6Nm Ha and 5Nm O111 and S11 but going to 3Nm to see if it helps.

Lovely image. Its one I have been imaging also. I love my MN190. My CCD is the Atik 460M so a similar set up.

Love the image. You manage to get the star colours much better than me from the same camera

Thank you. I am not normally a fan of Starless images but in this one the stars are not quite right seem to detract from it.
