  1. That's the one I've just bagged for a fiver from Abebooks.
  2. Cheers for that. Pity it was only published this year. I may have to pay full price
  3. Cheers. I do love abebooks
  4. Can anyone point me towards a good book that will tell me more about the sun? Both the way it works (without too much maths) and how to look at it through a scope. What's the 'must have' book for newbie sun gazers?
  5. Looking at 8x4? binoculars Porro prisms are usually 8x40 whereas roof prisms are 8x42. Is there any reason for the extra 2mm?
  6. I have to agree with this. I've got a copy out from the library but when my Shell vouchers come through I shall be using them on Amazon to buy a copy of my own.
  7. I'd like to be able to take a picture of my garden and use that as the landscape
  8. I used to do that for a living back in the late 80s. Soldering iron, pot of flux, scalpel and a heat gun - it was all a bit primitive
  9. http://www.bookfinder.com/search/?keywords=carl+sagan&st=sh&ac=qr&submit=
  10. PC Pro (a magazine for PC folks) that has always had high quality software on its cover DVDs has just this month stopped them and started downloads with a serial number from inside the mag instead.
  11. Don't forget that if you get a 32 bit edition of Windows it cannot address more than 4GB (actually about 3.5 in reality) of memory.
  12. Carl Sagan's Cosmos is available for rent through Lovefilm.
  13. I took the advice of BinocularSky and bought a pair of Olympus 8x40s which I'me very happy with.
