  1. So How Cool is it? I might get one and take it to a star party to see how many admiring glances I get and work out the "cool factor". I think Id'e be cooler if I took the fryer, at least I could make rounds of chips for everyone.

  4. penultimate word should have been "these" (what no edit facility)
  5. I have a local shop, and thank goodness for that. As a relative newbie it's nice to be able to go there and ask for advice and tips before committing to any purchase. The shop manager is a really nice bloke who knows his onions, and its nice to build up a "relationship" with a supplier when it comes to a hobby or pastime. Plus I don't always want to have to pay by card for every little thing and it's nice to be able to go and hand over some cash and come out all excited with a nice new something or other. plus I get fed up of the "we tried to deliver a parcel for you today" cards through letterbox then having to drive 15 miles to pick it up. I know online shopping has its place but its not the be all and end all, but it does look like this is the unfortunate way commerce is going there days.
  6. Oh well worth a shot. Ok Dave thanks for the info.
  7. anywhere as long as I wasn't looking at swathes of Cumulus or Stratus.
  8. Hi, a question for the photography aficionados. I have a Nikon DSLR. I have been going through a few of my farther in laws camera stuff that I have been given after he passed, and 1 thing I found was a Bell and Howell ( I believe they were just a distributor so not really sure who manufactured it) 70 -210 zoom lens. The lens fits his old pentax SLR and it does have PK stamped on the mount bit. I know this lens in it's current form wont fit my Nikon but I was wondering if I could get an adaptor to make use of it. I found this on the net http://www.digitalmediastore.co.uk/lens_accessories/lens_mount_adapters/nikon_1_series_body/Lens_Mount_Converter__Pentax_K_Mount_Bayonet_Lens_on_Nikon_1_Body__KIW-LMAPKN1-D but am a bit flummoxed with all the "compatible devices" bit at the bottom. So the question is would this adaptor do the trick? and I suppose another question is will it actually work or am I wasting my time trying with this lens? I realise the auto focus and auto aperture wont work but that's not really an issue. So if any one could help or point me in the right direction I would be grateful. Cheers....
  9. That is a really neat job but it must weigh a shed load!

  11. I level my tripod with a separate level before fitting the motor unit to the tripod. Not sure if this is the way James does it but it works for me.
  12. Hi Breezy have you checked out this thread http://stargazerslounge.com/topic/135122-az-goto-mount-diy-way-to-fix-wobbles/
  13. Hello Ryan, welcome. Sent from my ST23i using Tapatalk 2
  14. Yeah can't really justify spending £135+ on a diagonal for a 5" MAK , i'm a Yorkshireman, it brought tears to my eyes spending £65. Diagonal came today some nice weight to and it looks nice. Checked collimation and its spot on. So all in all am pleased with it ,although not tried it out on scope yet.
  15. Nice Scope IMHO but you still have to star align it though through finder scope before it GO'sTO.
  16. Yes I agree I think I would be VERY happy with an NEQ6 "sigh" maybe one day.
  17. Hello, welcome. Just to add my two cents I have the SW127 MAK and would defo recommend getting a dew shield, I think it was my first purchase after getting the scope as it dosn't take long before the corrector plate starts fogging when its cold.
