  1. No response to my original question. Try again! Im at the planning stage of a 2.2m dome. Concrete base - how many ducts need to run inside the concrete - is two enough?. Does anyone have a false raised floor inside for cable management? How do you get the cables from the floor to the pier base, if the pier base is separate - does anyone run the ducts through both? Pier - what’s the optimal height for the pier, if I’m currently using an EQ6, intending to likely change this in the future to a Mesu 200. Im sure I’ll have more questions as I don’t want to mess this up! I’ve built two ROR sheds so far but they are a bit more forgiving for retrofitting things and also more spacious. Thanks for your patience! Regards Adam
  2. @ollypenrice Thanks again. I'll try that: 1) a bias as a dark 2) the same bias as a dark flat 3) the flat as normal 4) what about a BPM??
  3. Interesting, proving there is no right answer for everyone! Just to clarify - you use bias-as-darks also with bias-as-bias?
  4. Is drilling and tapping the standard finder bracket an option?
  5. My only wish was that I had got the software working sooner. I've been using the oculus software and it's really really poor.
  6. I certainly hope it works well 👍 My concern would be flexure in that bracket which could lead to guiding problems.
  7. 1ms is still too bright for daytime imaging. Any solutions? Does it stop saving images if it doesn’t reach the desired brightness level?
  8. Thanks Alan. Mine came with the narrower lens but I contacted Terry at SX and he was able to swop it over for the wider one. I agree the wider one is more pleasing.
  9. That item you ordered on the other thread looks very flimsy TBH, I wouldnt be too keen on that to hold a guidescope.
  10. Thanks Alan. I did go onto microsoft and tried to download that but there were so many! I now have it working at last, thank-you!!
  11. I’m struggling to get this up and running. Any time I try to connect my SX oculus camera I get an error - cannot locate usbsx dll file.
  12. My suggestion would be to drill and tap the standard finder bracket/holder, and have it held on by six screws in a similar fashion to the rings above. It's a free solution and for me it works well.
  13. This is a test I just done there now. I feel this is more than adequate
  14. I’m getting 4-5mb now via the tplink despite changing nowt.
  15. Its not slow tonight, and all I did was call BT earlier??
  16. Thanks for all the replies guys I really appreciate it. So just to update a little. I rang BT and they are going to send me out a new Smart 2 hub, with better wifi range. So in theory I should have a decent signal to the shed for wifi. I currently have three PCs in the shed - two for meteors and one for imaging. All will need internet. I also have a switch with 8 ports (this came out of my work, when I needed a new one with 16 ports) When the new Smart 2 hub arrives, I will then have a BT HUB 5 router at my disposal. None of the PCs can pick up wifi as it stands. @Carbon Brush im like you, networking I also see as sort of a black art!
  17. Thanks David. There is no danger of being in a busy WiFi area. If I go down the WiFi route, what’s the best way to get the WiFi onto the PCs, as neither have internal receivers.
  18. I havent checked the internet speed in the house recently, but its fast.
  19. Thanks for reply. My shed is about 9 metres from the router, but its just on the edge of wifi reception. I have a BT hub 5 - going to ring today and see if I can get a new smart hub instead. Using WIFI alone wouldnt work at the current set up. My shed is wired into the consumer unit directly, and I plug the powerline adapter directly into the socket in the shed.
  20. Last night I tried to download allskeye software but it took a long time and failed 1/2 way through. I tried several times. I checked the speed of download and it was very slow. Im using TP link powerline adapters, into a netgear switch, then into my pc. I turned off all other devices using the internet in my shed with no improvement. I connected the pc directly to the powerline adapter (removing the switch) and still the same download speed. I’m not great when it comes to this type of stuff, but I looked at a few properties boxes of the connection and it says 1gb per second. I have 70mb FTTP broadband into the house. Any suggestions as to what’s the issue?
  21. Just realised I'd be a bit mad starting off with a £700+ printer! So I'm going to order the Ender 3. Any accessories that you reckon are essential?
  22. Seems to be a few deals? https://technologyoutlet.co.uk/collections/refurbished-3d-printers
  23. Thanks, I would definitely revise my budget if needed, the reviews seem good for that model.
