  1. Very striking! A lot to like. So no Red, but Ha used as red?
  2. Not half bad at all 👍🏻 Not a camera I’m familiar with, but after a quick google it’s a big sensor. Is this just a single frame and not a mosaic?
  3. I suppose it doesnt offer the option to align the camera, you are just stuck with wherever the threads tighten up to. It's not going to be any more rigid than this TBH. And is it even possible to screw a Baader MPCC directly onto anything? I suppose you could use the 2" filter threads? But then I wouldnt have enough back focus! See Gina things arent always that simple
  4. A Baader click lock arrived from @Captain Magenta thank you very much! As new. Fits the scope perfectly and should hold the imaging gear better then two thumbs screws.
  5. It's nice to have so much payload to play with that you can do this! With my EQ6 and the 180ed alone I am on the threshold of weight. It will be nice to get a dual rig up and running again.
  6. Both work equally 👍🏼 But A4 won’t be big enough for you.
  7. Thanks. I ask because my flats looked like that when light was getting in the rear of my reflector. I only takes flats at night now using a screen. My pc screen works fine, but still needs 4 thicknesses of t shirt stretched over the scope (F2.8)
  8. It doesnt look right for a flat. Did you take the flats at night/in the dark? I think extraneous light is a possible culprit here for the gradient to be running horiztonally. I tend to shoot my KAF-8300 flats at 25000-28000 ADUs, it may not work for you, but works ok for me.
  9. Nice job so far David. I have red data from my 383L+ and ED80. If Carole can’t help I’ll send you the linear stack. Similar amount of data to my M42. And like you I’m a bit short of data too 🙈
  10. Thanks. That’s literally all the data, no colour for the other half and the way the weathers looking it’s gonna be the end of 2020 before I get it.
  11. I've been trying now for a while to get a few minutes of colour data for the other half of this, but it's not happening, so here it is as it stands. I do have shorter data for the core but it's a hell of task doing this in LRGB. Maybe when I get more data I'll spend a day at it. LRGB of M42, consisting of two panels Left panel LRGB = 84/10/10/10 minutes Right panel L = 84 minutes Total time = 3 hours 18 minutes Even APP struggled with this, ended up combining in ICE, and then back to PS. Not the best out there, but it's always nice to get a bit of brown dust in the background. All the best Adam.
  12. I think it’s fantastic! It looks a little dark, there is probably more you could eek out of it.
  13. Hi Jon. Would you mind checking the difference you allowed between the brass sleeves and the CW shaft diameter? Thanks Adam
  14. I do have calipers! Mounts still in London though
  15. I think that £400 wont get you into cooled camera territory. £600-800 would get you a significant upgrade in the used market though. If mono then factor in filter wheel and filters etc.
  16. I just downloaded it and the average value of the background is 9 -> it looks very dark to me. Almost like it was clipped and then 'unclipped'. But I know very little except to take the free advice - us amateurs on here are in a very privileged position to get constructive feedback from the creme de la creme of AP.
  17. Thanks for that info. I have assumed it would be 40mm. @Jonk ordered his in November, and mine is the last of this 'batch' so I think it should be 40mm too. But I'll check first, that would be sensible
  18. What about a used ASI ZWO120MM? That's what I use, can be bought for £80 secondhand.
  19. Good question Paul, having progressed from a Canon 40d to a CCD myself. Which of your scopes are you thinking of using most? The main issue with be maintaining that nice big FOV.
  20. Stunning image, I love this area. I've had my EQ6 come to stop, when my camera rested against the pier, on occasions. It's not the clutches, its just the motors that stall. Clutches should be tight
  21. Ah ok yes as it stands that wouldn’t be any good. Looks like I’ve used an m48-m42 reducer then an m42 spacer. I’ll try it differently
  22. Yes 100% was using a CC. I found a photo of the setup. I have a spacer between the CC and the EFW. This let me insert it further into the focuser and also now explains why I used longer screws because the 10mm spacer has a smaller diameter.
  23. I’ll need to check again as Ive maybe got this wrong, but I thought I was using my MPCC here. Otherwise I’m not sure how my EFW fitted into the focuser.
