  5. I want to do some photography of the night sky , i am aware that i need a good sturdy tripod, a preferred Canon DSLR camera and a good quality lens i believe a 300mm . Could someone give me some more advice on anything else i need and what type of Canon camera i need , having read on this site a Canon is the way to go. Many thanks for any advice.

Hi guys, I'm looking on getting a DSLSR camera for taking photos of the milky way and stars as I will be going to a dark sky sight , I am looking at a used camera so my budget is limited, I have been told a wide angle lens of 24 mm is the lens to have.   8. Can anyone help me I am looking at doing some astrophotography ,I know I need a dslr camera but I am on a budget . I would prefer second-hand as long as it is one you guys can recommend . I also would like some advice on lens`s . Looking forward to a few replies Mark

      The contrast part is not true that is down to the focal length of the instrument. Plus you will see more with a skywatcher 200p than most smaller aperture refractors.

      For deep sky, my refractor achieve better contrasts than the 200p. The image is slightly richer.

  13. Thanks guys for your comments . Is there a make you would recommend that come with good lenses. Would bins be ok to look at vertually anything in the night sky. Mark

I have a Skywatcher telescope but i am considering getting a pair of Binoculars to use when out in the country ,I think they would be a bit easier to use and not having to cart my telescope around with me. Has anyone have any recommendations plus i don`t want to go too mad on price . Thanks Mark

  17. I have recently had a Skywatcher 130 telescope ,I have viewed the moon and Jupiter and was amazed. The 3 lenses that came with it are the Barlow ,super 25 wide angle long eye relief and a super 10mm . I just wondered if there any other lenses that would just get me a bit closer to jupiter ,i can just make it out withe three moons . Any help would be gratefully recieved again having helped me already. Mark

Well i finally got out last night my first port of call was Jupiter ,I finally got it in focus and i could clearly see the planet and its 3 moons .I then looked at the room and again i was amazed how clear everything was ,a total wow. I just need to learn my way around the sky now to find other things to see. Oh nearly forgot my scope is a Skywatcher 130 on and eq1 . Mark
