Thanks. Yes, it was the colour version.
I can't wait for Jupiter to come round again at a decent hour.

I have SkySafari on my Note 2 phablet controlling my 300P GOTO via a bluetooth adapter. It all works fine except that when I disconnect the bluetooth connection the mount goes nuts. I have to switch it off to avoid damage.
Does anyone else see this? Any suggestions on how to prevent it?
Thanks!

Just tried 0.0.6 and I now have colour with my QHY5-II C Fantastic job James.
Only issue I'm having is it is not saving settings. I set the Bayer format to GBRG and click save, but next time I open the app its back to RGGB.
Looks like tonight is going to be clear so I can give this a go. One less bit I have to use Windows for!

Wow, really inspirational stuff. Shows you don't have to spend a King's ransom to get some seriously good results. Very tempting as a 2nd scope for AP work in fact

Exactly that, plus it does provide a bit of extra light shielding as the SW Dobs, like most, don't quite project far enough past the secondary to prevent incident light hitting the focuser.
Russell
Thanks for that. Might give it a go

More than a sticky thread, we almost need a wiki or similar. Wading through forums and sticky threads can be ... intimidating? Harder work than some like? And yet there's a lot of good content in them - like this one.
I've got a couple of dedicated servers, so I'd certainly be up for hosting a wiki if there is enough interest. Not an interactive forum like this excellent site, but more an information source.

I have a question as well Russell. Why the shield on the front of your 300P? Is it to stop the secondary dewing up? Thanks!
I like your shroud as well. I stumped up silly money for an Astrozap.

I'm pretty sure that if I'd had a solid 12" Skyliner rather than the Flextube, I would have bashed it on a door frame by now. Getting my collapsed 300P through a door is a delicate operation (I've sheared off one of the eyepiece screws on a door frame), I can't imagine trying to do it with a full length tube.

Nice to see someone doing Linux stuff! I'll have to give this a go

Yes please.
Right-ho. I'll lug it down to the car at some point over the next day or two

I've just got a Baader MPCC MKIII coma corrector for my 300P. I'll let you all know how I get on with it once we get a clear sky!

Let me know if you want any more pictures of my 300P. I could show how it fits in my car, for example.

Here is my Skywatcher 300P Flextube both collapsed and extended alongside the newly established scale unit of 1 ReadyBrek The shelves behind are 6 foot high.
The two parts are just luggable individually. Each part weighs around 22 kilos. I've found it holds it's collimation surprisingly well after being collapsed.- 1

Hi.
I'm running Ubuntu 14.04 on a laptop with an SSD. Now running 0.7 that doesn't even need root to run now, but that image was from a video taken with 0.6. You did a fix for me to get it running A distro that uses udev is needed and you do need fwload (I think it's called that) installed.
You do need to set debayer mode each time as it doesn't remember the setting.
