    S5 0014+81

    S5 0014+81 is a distant, compact, hyperluminous, broad-absorption line quasar or blazar located near the constellation Cepheus. S5 0014+81 is one of the most luminous quasars known, with a total luminosity of over 10^41 watts, equal to an absolute bolometric magnitude of -31.5. If this quasar were at a distance of 280 light-years from Earth, it would give as much energy per square meter as the Sun despite being 18 million times more distant. In 2009, a team of astronomers using the Swift Spacecraft used the luminosity output of S5 0014+81 to measure the mass of the central black hole. They found that the central black hole of S5 0014+81 is actually 10,000 times more massive than the black hole at the center of our galaxy. The Schwarzschild radius of this black hole is 118.35 billion kilometers, an external horizon showing a diameter of 236.7 billion kilometers, 1,600 astronomical units, or 37.4 times the diameter of Pluto's orbit. S5 0014+81, which is located some 12.1 billion light-years distant, is thought to be the largest supermassive blackhole known.

    NEO 2015 TB145

    12 minute voyage of NEO 2015 TB145. Images aquired at the Northolt Branch Observatory. 2015 TB145 is a near-Earth asteroid roughly 600 meters in diameter. It safely passed 1.27 lunar distances from Earth on 31 October 2015 at 17:01 UTC. The asteroid was first observed on 10 October 2015 by Pan-STARRS at an apparent magnitude of 20 using a 1.8-meter Ritchey–Chrétien telescope. The asteroid was not discovered sooner because it spends most of its time beyond the orbit of Mars, has a large orbital inclination, and spends most of its time well below the plane of the ecliptic. The asteroid last passed within 0.1 AU of Earth in 1923 and the 2015 flyby was its closest approach to Earth in at least the next 500 years.
