  1. I see, so is the SW80ED pro with the ff/fr the equivalent of the Equinox 80 APO and the opticstar one?
  2. Hi there, Im looking at getting one of these but not sure what the differences are? http://www.opticstar.com/Run/Astronomy/Astro-Telescopes-Opticstar.asp?p=0_10_1_1_10 or http://www.firstlightoptics.com/pro-series/skywatcher-evostar-80ed-ds-pro-outfit.html It will be used for imaging with my 1100d. Am i right in thinking that the SW will need the Focal reduce/flattener? This will push it to f6.37 which will roughly match the opticstar so it is not needed for that one. Could someone advise me on the pro's and cons of each one? Thanks
  3. Thanks for the advice. I have a xm21x from maplins to power the mount at home. I meant that specific model in particluar as we have a spare one lying around at work and would be able to use that.
  4. Hi, I would just like to know if this would be ok to power the mount for an evening or so? Thanks
  5. Thanks, the business ones seem to be more readily available round here.
  6. Looks good, and now i cant get that song out of my head
  7. Hi I have seen people mention using a modded lifecam cinema HD. Does anyone know if the business versions of the lifecam cinema and studio webcams are the same? Also the cinema does 1280x720 and the studio 1920 x 1080. Which would be better for imaging planets? Thanks
  8. I've just sold mine to fund an eq6. Just need to wait til one comes up now
  9. Thanks Olly, what could possibly make you choose a place in the south of France over Chorley... I was looking at adding it to an adapter to fit it to the finder scope to help with guiding. I was just checking it was possible with this camera as its a 'cheap' camera.
  10. Hi I am looking to get this cam to use as a finder guider. I was just wondering if anyone had used it as a guider and if its up to the job before i order it? Thanks
  11. Sadly there are no flats for these shots. Im still trying to find the best way of taking them. They were more of an experiment to get my head around the processing. I am currently looking for a way of starting to guide, im trying to find out if a QHY5-II Colour will work as a finder guider.
  12. Thanks Steve, ill have a look at them tomorrow. Here are the 2 shots i managed to get yesterday. Both are only 5 x 2min exposures and darks. Unguided I have not finished with them in PS. Ill do that after looking at some videos. Also am i right that adding flats will reduce the glow towards the middle of the shots? and i think my camera could do with a clean to get rid of the dust marks
  13. Ahh i didnt apply the changes when saving the images. Thanks
