Love the site. really friendly crowd, loads of experience shared and it doesn't matter to the long term near professional stargazers what dull noob question you ask like i have been lol
From coming onto this site I've managed to glean enough info in a week to make me buy a set up i would never have dreamed of before thinking i couldn't use such a good bit of kit. But thanks to everyone i feel much more confident in what I've bought even if i won't be able to use it probably until my ankle heals.

hi tony i'm a newbie to it all as well and after many mind changes and hours of research it looks like i will be choosing a dob 200p seems to be a cracking scope for the money..
and welcome this site is very friendly and as i've found no question is too silly..lol

cheers for the info , it might be a possibility for me to attend the next one, as for warm gear i'm a "carp" angler also i have all the gear (and no idea) as i stay on the bank for nights at a time, so got full thermals and boots, sleeping bags bedchairs the works..
although one thing that might throw it for me this next session is my ankle being in a cast and i wouldnt be able to put a sock on it so it may come down to that..

Nice one Steve it might be an idea on the next clear night I've been stuck in with a broken ankle for 6 weeks with another 6 weeks before i start physio if my wife is all good with it i would love to come up and at least put some faces to names.
Although is the site suitable for wheel chair and crutches didn't think of that.
If it is great id love to come up.. I could bring my camera and get some long exposure shots.
