  1. Nice one Mark ? They sure are lovely looking scopes .... enjoy the views ?
  2. Looking good Gina, is it possible you can add an extra day for the weekend so we can have an extra day off work? ?
  3. Or should I have said "Clever cogs" ?
  4. Very nice indeed Gina ?Clever clogs or what .......
  5. Not too sure... probably the Lunt 1.25 with built in NDF as it will fit into both scopes ? But if I get a 2" SCT cliclock this may change to a 2" wedge ?
  6. I am thinking of another Herschel wedge Stu, well more than thinking I will get one very soon ?
  7. Dual mount solar set up - Full disc WO66SD & Starwave 110mm for close ups with the Quark.
  8. A picture would be nice Gina ? It sounds pretty awesome.
  9. This looks great, can anyone tell me how it is affected by vibrations, I have found other side mounted setups to be a tad annoying at the slightest of touches.
  10. That's brilliant Derek, it's also quite reassuring news for anyone thinking of getting a new one ?
  11. That's great news Derek and you haven't missed any sunshine ?
  12. These are great images from the eyepiece, very well done ? I have often wondered if the Lunar x indicates where the pirates buried their treasure......!
  13. My apologies, that was not my intention.... just an exceptionally bad experience that is difficult to forgive.
  14. They will take some beating John, quality will always hold its value because the characteristics that make it quality are built in. I had a very bad experience with Lord Voldermort Ludes and personally I wouldn't take their kit if I was paid to use it ? Regardless of their standing.
  15. Your most welcome..... ? If you need any assistance please feel free to ask.
  16. And here's me thinking I was teaching you to suck eggs ? In that case do a single star alignment using a low power eyepiece, say a 32mm, your target will then be in your field of view. It's then a simple case of synicing the alignment by centering the target in the eyepiece. (Syncing is optional should you want greater accuracy) Its good practice to align using a low power eyepiece and then using a high power eyepiece to fine tune, as you gain more experience and become familiar with your hand control software this process will not sound so daunting. Most of us have been here at some point ?
  17. I am sure there is a connection with Lunt & ES, during my visits to various astronomy shows I've noticed one of the guys behind both stalls has been the same guy. I once asked him, when I was looking at the big ES Dob on one stall and then the Lunt stall about half an hour later, if they were the same company and his response was just a big cheesy grin, I am sure he just changes his T-Shirt from an ES to Lunt !! It reminded me of the Tommy Cooper hat routine ?
  18. Great report Nat, I love the widefield views too ? They are very satisfying and are relaxing on the eye. Just one little pointer, no pun intended. One does not have to perform a three star alignment to use your kit, and as it happens I have never had much success when trying ? on the rare occasion it has worked I have not found the accuracy to be notably better than that of a two star alignment. It does seem an awful waste of a clear sky opportunity to be spending most of the night trying to align your scope ?
  19. We do seem to have had more than our fair share of clouds over the past couple of years and it can be a tad frustrating. However, I feel the clouds do prevent this wonderful hobby from becoming tiresome as we appreciate the clear nights, and days, when they eventually come along. Imagine how horrid it woul be to have wonderfully clear conditions on tap !!!!!

Nice one young lady, and a very enjoyable read.....the sniper scope made me laugh out loud ?
  21. I also agree with Calvin about the trainers ? Pikey feet.
  22. The reflection sure does look like the cover of the Oxford double star atlas....nice one Mick ?
  23. That's great news Deere, I hope it all happens in a timely manner and you don't miss to much observing time ?
