  1. Hi Simon, thank you. The star colour is me and my processing PC. For some reason I need to push the curves on that PC to see any colour. When I look at the image on any other PC I can see straight away what you mean. Will have to look into that.
  2. Hi all, Hasn`t the weather been poo! Gallaxy season is not my fav time of year, I can never seem to get the look I want and struggle with the lighter nights. Anyway as I had not been out to play for an age I thought I would have ago as the last few nights there was gaps in the cloud. Im still trying to find ways of blocking out a new LED street lamp that lights up my garden and with the bright moon I went for short subs and as many I could grab in a short time. In the end I had 213 30s subs of dodgy data which I through into PI and hit it with all the exterminator software I have! The result is a Gallaxy! not as outstanding as some I have seen on here but for me with the little time I spent on it Im happy. Taken with my trusty Askar 400 and ASI 2600mc. Any tips and CC welcome. Crop 1 crop 2 Thanks for looking.
  3. Nice! With the cloud here I have been playing with old data, soon will have to stop that and have ago at that sun thing to fill the time to the new season.
  4. Both look good but the second image for me is better.
  5. Im not a late night imager, if it isnt going to be clear from sun set then I wont set up. I cant stand being up to late love my bed to much! but recently as age has crept up on me I have been visiting the bathroom more often in the night and popping my head outside only to see clear skies when before I went to bed it was just clag! I think I should find another hobby!
  6. Wow, that is a great work. You seem to be banging them out at the moment. I gave up on the M81 M82 image, just couldnt get it right and to top it off I now have an LED street light ove my garden! but as they say no pain no gain.
  7. Always luv images of the witches head and yours is brilliant example.
  8. Hi all, This was and is still an experiment. The other night I noticed that my old street lamp had changed to a LED type! It was so bright in my garden that I could read a book! not very happy but dertermined to see what damage it had done to my photography I set up on the last clear night and did a couple of hours on the seagull. As the title points out my framing was terrible but at least I got something despite the sreet lamps best efferts! In future I am going to have to try and get some sort of shade but as for this image I was pleased considering the short time on target. 30 x 240s subs taken with my Askar 400 without the FR fitted and using an Optalong Ex filter And a crop Any hints tips an CC welcome, Also any tips with dealing with LED street lamps!
  9. Thanks for the flow, this is more or less what I have been doing.
  10. As the title says. I have been using PI for several years and still consider myself as a beginner. I have just jumped on to the exterminator software band wagon and find them all very good but my question is when to use them in a work flow for a OSC camera. I'm getting ok results at the moment but think I might be missing something . Thanks in advance.
  11. The mix is the best in my humble opinion.
  12. Thats looking real nice. I was out last night collecting more data so hopefully Ill have something to show in a few days. BTW the colour looks v good and the stars are well controlled, something I need to work on.
  13. Stunning shot as usual. Looks like the image they took of my retina a few years back! Lol
  14. Still playing with my version of this, think I need another night of data to get anywhere near your image. I seem to be struggling with the star size now! I think it's catching!
  15. That is so good. I can only dream of getting an image like that.
  16. Thank you. thanks for the tip, Im afraid Im a PI user ( can give it up anytime, honest )so will have to find the equivalents.
  17. V nice m8. I happen to me working on this target but cant seem to get the star colour to shine like yours.
