The focuser that came with my GSO 10" was fantastic...but still, the Moonlite is better. It's just very solid. And like Dan says, collimation is easier with it as well. I use heavy eyepieces and it rolls as if nothing is not the focuser...if I get my 12" back, or go 14" I'm certainly going Moonlite again.

Having reduced my kit to the maximum limit started to realize you really don't need more than 3-4 good eyepieces to do everything you want....

So, I received my Cheshire collimator...so far I really really hate it!! I think I might just invest in a high quality laser collimator..

it is true..
a cheshire needs some familiarity and practice..
I find laser collis hopelessly overrated..and inaccurate.
(apart from the barlowed method..and even then..)
I also thought the laser was the 'must have'..even got a self centering adapter..
But..the cheshire beats it every time...collimation spot on..
OK..it takes some tweaking and going backwards and forwards..
But the results (I feel..) are better (repeatabl...

I don't understand how Charles Messier catalogued M66 and M65 and yet failed to spot NGC 3628...while a bit fainter, but it's obviousl!! And...my eyes are hurting from galaxy hunting last night...getting old!!
