  1. I use an AOK Swiss AYO II on a Berlebach Uni 18. No problems with vibration. However, I do find the whole experience much more enjoyable using my goto EQ5. Having the mount doing the tracking for you leaves you to just immerse yourself in the viewing experience 😊.
  2. I had the Evostar ED80 for visual which, to be fair, I had really good time with. I was looking to upgrade to something with a little larger and optically as good or better. I saw @Mr Spock and others reviews of the Starfield 102 and I’m happy to say that it has lived up to its reputation!
  3. That’s not good. The astronomy can wait. The stars aren’t going anywhere soon. Relax and take care of yourself mate.
  4. Poor service @wookie1965 from Royal Mail, but thankfully no harm done 😊. I’m about an hour south of you and it looks like we’re in for a reasonably clear night!
  5. Hi Panos, welcome to the forum 😊
  6. Hi and welcome @WiltshireChris 😊
  7. Not Astro related, but welcome nonetheless 😎
  8. An 11mm Tv plossal seems to be the only eyepiece I need and it gives by far the best view. My ES 82s were good, but not that comfortable in the LS50. Neither my Baader IV zoom or SvBony 3-8mm zoom reach focus.
  9. I wouldn’t disagree, but Ed might, and all I’m saying is that I can understand his point of view, even if I don’t necessarily agree with him. Is that a bad thing? I haven’t taken the S50 plunge myself, but I am enjoying all the creativity and ingenuity on display here from those who have.
  10. I don’t have a squig in this fight, but to be fair to Ed, he seemed to me to be framing his review from a ‘buy once’ philosophy.
  11. You could always upgrade your rdf to a QuickFinder. The baseplate comes with some very sticky strips to attach it to your scope. Top tip: Use blue tack until you’ve found your preferred location 😊
  12. Likewise. I’m really chuffed for you @wookie1965 😊
  13. My Celestron one, which looks identical, takes three GP189 (LR54) batteries.
  14. I have a pair of these: https://www.astrogloves.net. Perfect when paired with a fleece with long sleeves and those holes for your thumbs 😊
  15. This might help (if you haven’t seen it already)
  16. It’s been a while since I looked into using my ASI 120 MC with my LS50, so I can’t find the original source, but I’m reasonably sure it suffers from the same lack of infocus. If the sun was out I’d test it! The suggested remedy was to shorten the camera’s ‘nose’ and replace the eyepiece clamp on the diagonal with a low profile one to gain a bit of infocus. https://www.firstlightoptics.com/adapters/astro-essentials-low-profile-camera-adapter-for-zwo-planetary-cameras.html https://www.firstlightoptics.com/adapters/baader-ultrashort-1-t-2-eyepiece-clamp.html It might be worth a try if you find you have problems 😊
  17. Not to this mount, but I’ve found that mine is horrible to use if under mounted. Vibrations take while to damp down, and at high magnification, the scope becomes difficult to focus due to the vibrations. Also, if the scope’s saddle is off centre, it can feel really precarious due to all the weight being on one side. If you try it, add some weights to your tripod.
