I'm sure it will be completely fixable! If you have a local astronomy club/centre I'm sure they will be able to help!

  5. is anyone getting any stargazing time in the moment due to the short nights and lack of dark skies

      Rockrae78

Yes. Had a really good few nights recently and tonight looks good too. Think it all depends on the location and the size of your scope. My garden is full of LP but I have an 8" scope that seems to cope with the brighter DSOs.

  6. Jaffa cakes taste funny if you eat them upside down!

I actually get a really horrible aftertaste if I eat them upside down... Tastes absolutely great if I eat them the right way up! That will teach me for eating in the dark!

  7. Well, the family have all arrived... Buying the tree today.... Nearly finished wrapping the presents... Just in case I don't get a chance to get back on here before the festive season begins properly, I would like to wish everyone here at SGL a very merry Christmas, and a happy, healthy, and wealthy New Year!

  8. Looking long and hard at the heated gilet jackets online...might be just what i need for those long, cold nights...

      Rockrae78

I've had one for years... First off, it's only the front that's heated... And the batteries don't last very long! Having said that, the gilet itself is quite warm!

  9. Oh what a night!! (And its not even over yet!!) Cold out, but well worth it... finally got to see M31!

    1. Rockrae78

      Rockrae78

Only just finished now... Managed to observe M42 in greater detail than I've ever seen it, and Jupiter was simply amazing!

  10. Damn you full Moon!

    1. Rockrae78

      Rockrae78

I know what you mean... I've spent weeks complaining that I need a clear night, and the best night in a long while comes along - when there's a full moon! Typical!
