yes makes sense to go for the 400 as you say you have the converter so 800mm + crop will be very nice :)

Just looked up PI, those home page images are amazing.

    3. tingting44

      tingting44

idigitize I got PI simply because of the power of the stacking options, same data stacked with DSS and PI is just miles apart, its amazing really. also ABE and DBE imo are worth the price tag alone, just going to take some time to get familiar with all the functions.

really idigitize, ive found LR5 NR does a way better job, did not know they used the same raw conversion!

for me there is no looking back with PI now,

    4. tingting44

      tingting44

PI has a trial you can use with all functions unlocked, give it a try, especially stacking and ABE & DBE!

  4. just looked out in to my garden and somone has chopped off the lamp post!!!! WOOO HOOOO!!! :D :D :D http://www.flickr.com/photos/tingting44/11929889464/

      gooseholla

No, I moved jobs and one of them paid me wrong, so they didn't pay any tax on my earnings for a month (£200)... idiots! Then government screwed up on tax credits, then wanted them back - of course, months later after you have spent it, after being told you wouldn't owe them anything... (£820).

    3. tingting44

      tingting44

ah gooseholla i feel for you :( that seriously sucks :( id just pay back a fiver a month :(

I forfeited this year's right to credits for the debt to be wiped out. So not so bad. But I am still, technically, losing due to their incompetence.

then again, you cant beat primes for sharpness..... but primes are big bucks to cover say the 8mm-400mm focal range.....

    3. hobsey

      hobsey

I did get the 70-200 f4 IS in the end, no astro with it yet but plenty have.

I will be getting a second hand 200mm 2.8 L at some point as I really don't fancy taking a 1K lens out in the dark where I could trip and drop it.

    4. hobsey
  8. might have to have my 1st go at andromeda tonight, only garden practice imaging with a full moon, but all practice for the dark site, when it starts getting dark again :D

    3. tingting44

      tingting44

thanks for that jake! lol some people say different stuff about flats which just confuses me lol looking at your pics tho jake ill do it your way haha and change the exposure of the flats from the lights, and put the dslr in AV mode...( quite surprised it does not mention this in making every photon count? unless i missed some reading :D (more then likely)

    4. tingting44

      tingting44

btw jake how do u normally take your flats? i was thinking just using my laptop screen (on a white screen)

    4. tingting44

      tingting44

sounds a nice night, ah yes the moon would have still been a problem for Stu as he is not imaging in NB is he?

      hobsey

Thats cool. I was thinking later on down the line I may get another one as the adapter for the guidecam to the finder is quite loose and turns easily so I was going to lock tight it on and get another one as a finder.

    4. tingting44

      tingting44

yes i found the SPC900 adapter quite loose also on the SW 9x50 :( bit of lock tight or some plumbers tape will do the trick tho ....
